~~~2 Trees were taken down today!!!~~~
HI everyone. We got home from Fl. yesterday and this afternoon the tree guys showed up to remove 2 trees. When they brought the CRANE down the driveway they ruined it: but we had planned to redo the driveway this spring but I was very surprised at the extent of the damage!!!! Here is the carne and the men LEVELING the truck!
 This is a small shot of some of the damage.
 Then crane maneuvering into position.
 The crane operator.
 One guy climbing the tree that will come down.
 See those little red buds on the limbs? They would fall all over the driveway and make a BIG mess! I will NOT miss that!!!!
 The second guy being hoisted up by the crane to tie off the limbs to come down.
 Tying off limbs.
 I YI YI!!! What a mess!
 Each limb was cut and then hauled up the driveway to the street to go into the chipper/shredder.
 Lifting up the ENTIRE TREE!!!!
 They would lay it on the driveway, remove some limbs then drag it to the shredder.
 Being lowered.
 Cutting off limbs.
 It was a pretty amazing operation! I hope I am not boring you all to death!!!!!!
 After doing the tree out front they swung the crane over the house to take a dogwood that had been broken in a snowstorm, and is in the back of the house.
 After tying the tree to be lifted he cut it off at the base.
Then the whole tree went OVER THE HOUSE to the front.
 When the crane backed out it made MORE mess:(:(
I am hoping to get some SPRING decorating done around here, maybe tomorrow and will post that ASAP! Thanks so much fopr stopping by. I love your comments so please let me know you were here!!!!   1. Oh my goodness, Pinky! This was a huge job! And a dangerous one. This is a very interesting proceedure. WOW!
    Sorry about the driveway... UGH!
    Hope you can do somehing girly after the day with the tree and the driveway and the men!
    xo Yvonne
  2. Oh my...... trees are so beautiful, but not near a house. Too bad about the damage to your driveway, but thankfully the high winds wont cause tree damage to your house anymore.
    I bet this cost a pretty penny. When we lived in our big house with big trees...... I didn't realize how much taking care of the trees would cost us.
  3. OMG! I would have been a nervous wreck! I never thought about the driveway being damaged. That is too bad but I'm sure you'll be happy without those trees.
    Glad nothing else was damaged!!
  4. Wow what a job!
    I had a friend who's tree lifted the whole driveaway becuase of the roots.
    Hope your doing well!
  5. Hi Pinky! That's a huge job with those big olds trees! That's a shame about the drive way.
    I'm sorry about your FIL and hope your family is healing.
    Thank you for popping in and I do hope you can come!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)
  6. Pinky,
    Amazing the size of that tree! Check your home owner's insurance policy. The tree won't (probably) be covered...but the driveway should be. I'd say the tree company would be liable for those damages unless you signed a paper stating otherwise. Just a thought!
Thanks you for leaving your lovely comments. xo, Pinky
