~~~ Weeknight Dinner with our Daughter and Son-in-Law!!!~~~
HI everyone! Last Thursday we dogsat for our daughter and SIL so after work they came for dinner! I had chili in the freezer so it was easy to get dinner ready! We always like to do "chili mac" . That is how the kids grew up having chili! So, I set a casual table for us. I used a set of leaf placemats, my leaf salad/bread plates, and the bowls from my "Fall everyday" dishes!!! Yes, I have everyday dishes for every season:):) Mr. just shakes his head at my, ahem, addiction! Is there a 12 step program for dishaholics???? If so, I will be the leader of the pack:):)
 I used my iron pumpkin holder for our centerpiece since it takes up little room on the table.
At first I just placed the rattan covered glasses on the table. I used my brown bamboo flatware, and a green with white stripes napkin gathered up in a flower napkin ring.
 This was our bread plate. It was from Walmart last year and I haven't seen ANY Fall dishes there this year!!!!:(:( Have any of you????
 This is the placemat. I have had these for a few years and love them.
 My dollar store acorn and pumpkin S and P.
 I placed some faux pumpkins in each bowl before dinner.
 They're here, time to light the candles!!!
 Don't the colors go well together!?
 Then we decidee to have a glass of wine with dinner so I got out the leaf glasses, again from the Dollar Tree!!!!!
 Perfect!!!!
 Here are my cutie pie granddogs! This one is Hope.
 And here is Faith. She is older, Faith is still a baby!!! And CRAZY!!!
I will post the recipe for the chili on Sunday. Hope you will come back. I will be joining these fabulous parties!!!;
  4. No, I haven't and I looked this year. I got the purple ones like that last year. They had tons of the ruffled plates and bowls and ony 3 or 4 cute salad plates like yours.
    Great idea to have chili in the freezer ready to go. I haven't had chili mac in years. I need to do that. I always tried to scoop up all the macaroni I could get, it was my favorite part.
  5. Hi Pinky...
    Sounds like you had a great dinner with the kids, Pinky! You certainly set a beautiful table...and all dressed up in autumn! Love, love, LOVE your pretty brown tapestry place mats with the colorful autumn leaves! You know, I have the same salad plates from Walmart but in the olive green color. I really do like the cream off white plates like you have...sure wished that I had picked that color up as well!
    Well dear friend, your beautiful table just warmed my heart! Thank you for sharing it with us!
    Love ya,
    Chari
  12. Pinky, your dining table looks wonderful! Full of Fall, for sure! I love your plates (I have them, in green ... and, NO, our Wal-Mart hasn't put their Fall items out yet, either!) Your iron pumpkin holder is beautiful, as is the soft candlelight! The food looks delicious, too! And, thanks so much for your kind words about my dining room at Marty's ... I sincerely appreciate it! xo
  15. Hi, Pinky! I haven't been to WalMart in a long time, so I don't know about the dishes. It seems to me that they would have had them out back in August or so, though. Weird. I also love "chili mac" and still make it to this day. It's good, it's hearty, it's filling...what more could you ask for? :-) If there's a 12-step program for dishaholics, I hope my husband doesn't find out about it and make me go for treatment!!!!! Dishaholics of the World, unite!!! Have a great weekend, Pinky!
