Look What I Found!~~~

HI everyone, You all know that I have gone through every nook and cranny of this house in preparation for the BIG MOVE:) Well, I found this pottery basket under one of the kitchen cabinets. I have had it forever and forgot about it. So today I went to the place where I used to work and got this great FAUX succulent to put in it! I LOVE it.
I Love the curved handle on the "basket/pot". I got this from a local potter MANY years ago and I bet I only paid a dollar or 2 for it!!!!
I don't think I showed you my palm tree canisters when I posted the kitchen. I found these in Fl. many years ago and they HAD to come home with me. I got them at Steinmart before we had Steinmart up here in the north! I love the basket weave detail on these. And the bamboo detail around the rims.
A plate on a palm tree stand.
Here we have a pineapple lamp and another palm tree plate. Did you know that the pineapple is the symbol for hospitality? Oh yes it is!

I have this tricolored candle in a palm tree holder. This is all metal and pretty heavy!
And, next to that is my wax warmer.
I just love these candle holders too. I love a touch of black in any room!
One of my favorite arrangements. Love that container! YOu can see in the background that we now have 4 placemats on the table;):)
The palm trees on this candle are raised.
Hope you have enjoyed this little tour around my kitchen. I have the ITCH to redo things all over the house right now. I got some other goodies today which I will share tomorrow. XO, Pinky

  18. I LOVE all your palm trees. I have loved palm trees since I was a little girl! I remember going to Florida and getting so excited when I would see the first palm. I associate them always with the beach which is just my zen place! One of the first things we did when we moved here was to plant a palm tree in our yard and some small sago bushes. I adore them and am so sad to move and have to leave my palm trees!

  25. Pinky, you have to be exhausted from all the moving & re-arranging & fussing you've been doing. I hope you can rest a bit now. Lots of stress to moving, esp. when its the kids coming into your home.

I loved seeing all your pineapple things, as they remind me of FL. The way it became a sign of hospitality was the sailing ships Captains would impale a fresh pineapple on their picket fence newel posts when they got home from their trips abroad. It was to indicate that they had fresh provisions & were willing to share. They are VERY big in our Western Reserve/Williamsburg area.

    Hugs,
    Rett
