~~~Pottery in the Kitchen~~~
Usually when I put away all the Christmas decor in the kitchen and breakfast room I get out all the palm tree decor....of which I have alot!:) I was just not feeling it this year so went in a different direction. I have a large collection of pottery pieces that I collected many years ago. I went to good, jurieed craft shows where everything was handmade. The prices were also a FRACTION of what they are now. If I tried to collect these pottery pieces now, I wouldn't be able to. So, I am grateful I have all that I do. So, let's have a look around! We'll start at the buffet area of the kitchen. I love to change up the vignettes in this area.
 This large platter has gotten alot of use over the years! And you can put it in the oven to keep things warm!
 Over by the stove the large vase is paired with a topiary and a wonderful candle. During the day it smells like I am baking: which I am NOT:)
 A pottery piece serves as a utensil holder and another large vase holds a faux plant.
 I fell in love with the turtles on this piece and now it goes SO well with my granite!
 Moving around, the large bowl holds fruit, to the left is a wax warmer and to the right, the cut out piece is meant to hold an orchid but right now it holds another candle.
 This isn't a pottery lamp but I love the wrought iron base and the wicker shade.
 Up above the cabinets I have more pottery and baskets.
 I finally found a vintage scale at our local antique store! I love it and really wanted one with a red platform!
I have a pottery teapot sitting on it. Next to that a small pottery vase holds one apple.
 Just looking around the room, more baskets on the walls.
 This candle holder was found at a great shop up near Lancaster, a few months ago when Shirley from Housepitality Designs and Mary Alice from Chateau Chic were up this way and we all went to Yvonne's and then shopping!
 It has moved around the house but for now I am liking it here. This is the larger one and...
 The smaller one sits over here in the breakfast room. You can see more pottery pieces here too.
 I found this LARGE bottle/vase at Home Goods the other day and couldn't pass it up, it was less than $20.00! I had some dried grasses that I put in it but am looking for some LARGER branches for it.
 I also hung a few more baskets around too. As I have been organizing I have found some things and decided to hang the baskets.
 The view from the kitchen to the breakfast room.
 There are some copper molds up here that I forgot to show you the other day.
 The view back towards the kitchen. One large basket is up there. Since I took these pictures I added a basket above the metal leaf piece and another over on the pillar.
Thanks again for visiting, I so appreciate your support and sweet comments. XO, Pinky
  3. Pinky, I love your pottery collection! It's elegant and understated. Just noticed I used to have the metal wall hanging you have behind your cooktop. I had it in my son's bathroom when he was youger as part of a jungle theme. I now have kind of a palm tree/coastal thing going on in some of my bathrooms. As I aways say, you have the loveliest things. (Would love to see your storage room!! LOL!!!) Cathy
    1. Cathy, wish you had a blog so I could come visit you. I hope to be able to share my storage one of these days, if I ever get it really organized. I AM working on that:):) What state do you live in?
  5. You're right about the pottery being super expensive these days Pinky. I rarely go to juried shows anymore. My pockets are just not that deep! Clearly,my our pieces are one of a kind and you're fortunate to have them.
