A Transitional Table in Green and White

I actually set a table with snowmen but then decided that since the whole room had been transformed I would put that away and start anew. I love the result I cam up with. Green is such a neutral color and the pops of white make it fresh.
I gathered 2 napkins; a white with a scalloped edge and a solid green that matches the tablecloth and runner perfectly, in a ring of greens.

On the tablecloth I stacked a rattan charger, white dinner plate, green and white salad plate and the green leaf bowl with a green apple in it.
For our centerpiece I added a white ceramic pineapple lantern, a pottery pot with a green fauz plant, and a faux mini fern under a cloche onto a wicker tray.

On each side I added 2 topiaries in white ceramic pots.
Burlap wrapped votive holders add some texture. We eat a lot of soups and chili etc. in the winter so I added the soup spoons too.
More texture on the S and P.
The sun FINALLY came out after 17 days of clouds!!!! So exciting!
I really love this runner; the pattern and the colors!

I think some of the pictures came out cloudy because the sun was SO bright it faded the shot.

I love the sun streaming into the whole back of the house most of the day. I smile every morning when I walk in here. Well, when the sun is shining I mean:):)
For dinner we can light the candles and the lantern. They are all LED candles.

I also mixed up the flatware, alternating green and white handled pieces for fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a beautiful day wherever you are.

Winter Foyer 2017

After we put the Hummel Nativity away I pondered whether I wanted to do something very wintery here or not. I decided not:) I brought back the palm tree lamp that I love but placed it at the other end of the credenza. I decided to feature this water bearer, inherited from my in-laws and a favorite piece of mine.
I also wanted to bring in a touch of leopard, actually I guess these candle sticks are more tortoise. I raised one to create different heights and added 2 beautiful smelling candles to greet our guests.
A blue and white jar and my winter swans from Longwood Gardens complete the vignette.

I placed some faux ivy around the candle sticks and nestled the other swan in the ivy.

The lamp and credenza give of a pretty glow at night. Thanks for stopping by. I hope yor weather is better than ours. We are having a "noreaster" today so I hope we don't blow away:)

"Owl" Do You Like our Winter Fireplace!

After getting all the Christmas away I did the mantle for the winter. I really enjoy doing this. I had never done "winter décor" til I moved here. Those who follow me, can you believe it has been 4 years already!!??  Hope you like the mantle and hearth! Isn't this little guy cute!? I sat him on a silver candlestick.
His friend sits up higher on a glass candlestick. Candlesticks are not just for candles my friends!!! The LED candles are on timers and have a remote too!
I placed a snowy pine tree on a candle holder too along with a tiny owl.
Another pinecone owl sits on an overturned silver bowl. Icy branches and pinecones add more texture to the area.

This snowy mini wreath surrounds another owl.

At night the candles cast a soft glow.
I had a pine tree on the right side then remembered I had 2 of these snowy white trees!
So the other went on the hearth.
Pine cones fill some spaces too.

The trees have burlap on the bases.
The one on the hearth has 2 tiny owls perched among the branches.
I have some snowflake placemats and they fit perfectly into my white basket/tray!
The 2 carved wooden lanterns are from India. They usually sit on the floor beside the fireplace. I LOVE them ON the fireplace. I think they have found a new home!

I placed a green wreath around the base of one,
and some greens around the other one.
Not sure why the light of the lantern isn't showing well.
I am really enjoying this look for winter! It is very warm and cozy looking to me.

Thanks for your visit.
