Something New in the Foyer

I drove up to Lancaster county on Monday for a few hours. I stopped into Ross to see if they had another blue and white planter. They did. But then I spied something I could not pass up. Well, actually 2 of them! Do you see them?
I saw one of these cranes and wished they had 2. I thought I would use them on the hearth . Then in another aisle I found the second one! Into my cart they went. They were a great price, and I love the brass look.
I also like them here as you enter the house.

So, I then decided the credenza needed a little update for Spring. But I wanted to do something simple. I had these 2 orchids in my storage and had gotten the bottle with the bird last year. I placed that on a brass candle stick.

On the other side I keep this palm lamp here, and added one of my favorite Asian jars. It is metal too. then a simple pottery dish on an iron stand with potpourri. I am loving all the different textures. Did you notice the pottery switch plate?

One of my favorite Asian figures sits in the center.

 Simple, clean lines for Spring.

Thanks for your visit. I wish you a day filled with sunshine. I THINK Spring is actually here! I am a happy girl.

Spring on the Mantle

I removed the bunnies from the mantle and did something new to welcome Spring . I made an arrangement in one of my blue and white vases and then used birds and nests for Spring on the mantle.
I left the hearth a little bare(for me) purposely, just to lighten things up.
I would 2 garlands together too.

At dusk the lanterns come on and cast such a pretty glow.
I got another pothos plant for this garden stool. I placed it into a new blue and white planter I found at Ross.

The other day I found this little pot so added it to the stand with the nest.

Thanks for your visit!

A Welcoming Spring Table in the Dining Room

I keep a table set in the dining room, as it is the first room you see as you enter our home. I love changing them for the seasons. This table was inspired by the runner that I found at Christmas Tree Shops! I love the soft pastel colors. I am usually not a pastel person but in the Spring I am. I was going to use plain turquoise dinner plates then remembered that I have these beautiful bird plates that I got on clearance at Pier 1 years ago! Then I found the small bird plates on clearance at Pier 1 this year! The tiny nests came from Michaels and I added the tiny eggs.
I had the flowered place mats and napkins in  my stash too.
This is the runner that inspired the table.
I also had these turquoise pillar holders and the turquoise and white LED candles!
I love this arrangement of white cherry blossoms in a rattan covered glass vase that I made last year.

I gathered a yellow and the flowered napkins in  a bird napkin ring.
My SIL, Jane gave me these hand painted wine glasses many years ago and they seemed perfect for the table. Thanks again, Janie!

My Napolean bee flatware is a standard for Spring and summer.

I surrounded the candles with these flowered rings too.

Thanks for your visit! Have a beautiful weekend.

Welcoming Spring!

Mother Nature gave us a beautiful 2 days on Friday and Sat. It was in the low 80's!!!! I was in Heaven. But it was just a big tease! However on those 2 days I worked my butt off and got a lot done outside. One of the things I did was refresh the front porch. I thought I would share that with you today. I made a new arrangement in my urn by the door, removing all the Easter flowers. I can't plant real flowers yet so wanted something here to look nice til I can plant real.
I had all these flowers in my stash so didn't have to buy anything.
My large, HEAVY bunny from Lowes sits next to the urn. I also planted some faux impatiens in a creamy planter
I changed out the lantern too adding a candle and some faux flowers. A real pink pansy in a pink pot sits in front of the lantern then more pansies in my other bunny planter.

I showed you before that I am layering 2 mats out here and am loving the look.

I am working on making a new Spring wreath so that will be up soon.
This twiggy bench is usually on the back patio but Santa sat on it this Christmas so I put an azalea that I could not resist. The colors are so pretty!

Joe put new "flame" bulbs in the lights on the garage. You can't tell in the picture but they look like a gas lantern flickering! I love them!

Thanks for coming!
