Black, White and a Touch of Green at the Table

Good morning. We are having house guests so I haven't had time to do a new post so am reposting this from ast year. I amy actuallly do a very similiar table soon, maybe. Hope if you missed this you can enjoy it now!  I started with a black and white checked runner. I wanted to make it light and airy.  I used a black and striped placemat and a sea grass round mat along with my white chargers and black and white flowered dinner plate and black and white salad plate. I topped all that with a green apple surrounded by a green, leafy ring.
To compliment the runner I mixed it up a bit by gathering 2 napkins together in a simple, white ceramic napkin ring.
My limelight hydrangeas are perfect for a simple but beautiful centerpiece.
They are all different colors right now. Some are still  green and some...
 are white and some
are beginning to show some of that beautiful pinkish color.
I added 2 green candles surrounded by a green leafy ring for added texture.
My clear bubble goblets will hold our beverage.

The hydrangeas are in one of my white pitchers that is acting as a vase.
To add some more texture I filled my white gravy boat with some seed balls and other pods.

A single apple sits in a green leafy ring on top of the dish stack.

And mixing my flatware makes the table fun.

 This is the salad plate
and this the dinner plate. They can be mixed together many different ways.

Yes, there is also a small antler in this mix:)
I really like the edge of the gravy boat and the leafy vine on the side.

The rattan S and P tie in with the sea grass placemats.

Thanks for your visit! Are you dreaming and planning for Fall yet? I am just beginning to THINK about it. We have had some cooler temps this week that I have been loving. I hope you are surviving this awful heat if it is HOT where you are!!!.

 XO, Pinky

  17. I love this color combo - green is my fav color!! Something that really caught my eye is how you set the long table - I love how you planned it side by side, rather than across from each other - I never think to do that and certainly have to remember it!! Great idea! Your hydrangeas are so pretty - is there a trick to keep them from wilting once cut?

    1. Well, I change the water every other day and then after about a week or 10 days I purposely let them dry. I like to have dried flowers for decorating in the fall:):)

  18. So beautiful and refreshing! It has been hot here in North Carolina too, so much so, that fall seems far away. Today we are having a respite from the heat, low 80's with no humidity! Heaven. Your tablescapes are always lovely.

  28. Black and white is always good as there are so many touches that can be added. I had to keep looking at the green trying to figure out if it was real or fake. That was a fun addition.
