~~~A Winter Mantle~~~
I have never really done "winter decor" after the holidays. I usually just put back the everyday things. However I have been INSPIRED by several bloggers to create somne winter vignettes here and there. So, I showed you the winter vignette on the coffe table here: http://designsbypinky.blogspot.com/2015/01/a-winter-vignette-for-coffee-table.html Now I will share the mantle. It was fun putting it together! I had everything so this cost me nothing! I love this little Hummel piece. I forget what it is called, Riding into something, maybe Christmas? But since he is on a sled I decided it was a wintery piece.
 I had this tree, mounted on a piece of wood and lightly sprayed it with faux snow.
 This pinecone tree is sitting on a little stand so I placed some snowflakes in front of it.
 This is the right side of the mantle.
 On the left is this cute little owl made from pine cones!
 I made this arrangement before I started putting the mantle together. I knew I wanted something with height on each end of the mantle. The vase usually sits on my dresser but I think the color and design are perfect here. I filled it with snowy greens, snowy pinecones, snowy owls and some snowflakes:)
 I LOVE these snowy owls. Shirley, from Housepitality Designs has a whole tree full and I fell in love with them when I sawe hers! The pinecone owl is sitting on a little pedestal and I added a twig ball to bring that color and texture here.
 This snowflake candle was a gift a few years ago, along with the beaded candle ring.
 They are sitting on a little pedestal too, along with some greens and pinecones.
 I don't haver a winter scene piece of artwork for here so that was another reason I chose the vase that I did.
 Aren't they just the cutest?
 Here it is at night with the overhead lights on.
 I decided to add a few antlers too, to make it a little more "woodsy".
Thanks so much for your visit. Hope you are staying warm!!! It is bitterly cold all over, I know, very hard to get just from the car into the grocery store:)
  3. Your mantel is wintery and pretty. I love to see your Hummels. Both my grandmothers collected Hummels and I sometimes wish I had not gotten rid of them. They look so cute incorporated into a vingette!
  4. I love how you styled your mantel! It's very rustic and wintry. Your owls reminded me of Shirley's too. I love the pinecones and antlers you added as well.
  6. I love those snowy owls as well! I too thought Shirley's tree was gorgeous. The pinecone owl is so unique. Love what you have done! I always keep out anything snow themed after Christmas. Just seems right when you live in a place that has a cold and snowy winter. The little Hummel guy is just perfect! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
