We Are Dining with the Birds This Week!
Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. If you celebrate Mother's day I hope it was the best one yet. I set a new table for us and wanted to share. Hope you like it. I found this cute stand last week at CTS. I had been looking for a stand for the kitchen table.
I have had this little candle shade for years. The original candle is gone and I was happy to see that it fit on this one. The bird S and P are the ones from Target, YEARS ago.
The rattan wrapped glasses provide a touch of texture that I love. And the bird votive holders, I have had for years too.
I placed a candle ring on the wooden stand and then a wooden bird.
The grapevine rings came from a decor shop in Lancaster county. I added the green ring and the bird.
The runner is quilted and the pattern is simple for Spring.
I gathered 2 napkins in my silverware ring.
At dusk it is dinnertime and we light the candles.
We had our dinner group here on Sat. night and ate in the dining room, but they liked this table too. I didn't set a very fancy table for dinner group but may share it later.

Dining with the Birds on a Plaid table
Good morning! I sure hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas and were surrounded by the ones you love. Our little Colleen had a very good day, Santa was very good to her. I set a new table for us and thought we would dine with the birds for a few weeks in winter! I fell in love with this runner when I saw it.
I have collected the BHG line of Christmas plates, from Walmart, since they started this line a few years ago. Some of these have birds depicted on the salad plates. I started with a plaid tablecloth, and added the runner. This is a favorite design idea of mine to use a cloth and a runner.
I kept the pinecones, small ornaments and snowflakes in the bubble glasses and added a cardinal.
The centerpiece is a bark birdhouse with some cardinals on it. I placed it into a basket with some greens, ivy, and picks.
Next to the centerpiece are 2 of these bird figures.
I found these cute watering can ornaments at Walmart. This plate depicts a chickadee on a berry vine.
I mixed up the flatware for this table for some fun. Green,white and polka dot utensils make it interesting!
2 napkins; a white and a plaid are gathered together with a ring of greens and berries. These are actually candle rings, but I often use them as napkin rings! Another little design trick of mine:)
I am using some cute votives that have a border of holly, since it gets dark so early.....which I have to say I do not like:):)
The bird S and P are in a metal basket holder.
The stack is a textural placemat, the plaid charger from Michaels last year, an embossed white dinner plate, and the bird salad plates.
I got some shots the nest morning when the sun finally came back out!

Birds at the Table!
I showed you this runner last year but pulled it back out to enjoy again. I love this runner; the burlap type fabric, the script and the beautiful birds depicted on it.
I gathered together some of my black and cream dishes for this table setting. The dinner plate has the stems just on the edge, the salad plate has a scroll pattern and the appy plate has flowers, twigs and the bird as you can see. I placed them on a burlap charger that is on a square woven charger with handles, for lots of texture.
The burlap type napkin is gathered in a twiggy mini wreath, that I use as a napkin ring and other things too, then I added the silver bird ring!
My centerpiece is in a basket that matches the chargers.
The bird S and P are in a metal basket.
Rattan covered glasses add even more texture to the table.
I love these burlap chargers.
These bird votive holders were purchased years ago.
I kinda think it might have been Pier 1.
My larger bird pedestals make another appearance, along with a wired nest tealight holder!
I lit the candles for dinner the other night.
I love the way the stems on the dinner plate resemble the twigs of the mini wreath!
The next morning the sun was shining! So I got a couple of shots.
