Fall 2017 Mantle and Hearth!

I just LOVE decorating for fall. The colors of Fall are truly my colors. My heart skips a beat when I place my pumpkins and other décor around the house in the Fall. So, I am continuing my tour and hope you have been following along.
I debated about changing out the picture over the mantle but in the end decided to keep it here and work with it.
So, I combined some Fall colors along with some blue and white pieces.
During the day the sun streams into this room. I smile every morning when I walk out here.
I made this large arrangement for this side of the mantle.

One of my velvet pumpkins nestles in a blue and white container.
The crane topiary on the other end balances the arrangement. 2 gold, glitter pumpkins are nestled around it.
Bittersweet branches add some more texture.
I love the carved, wooden lanterns on the hearth and will probably always keep them here. I added some blue and white jars and 2 wooden pumpkins that sit on candle rings.
This pottery pumpkin was found many years ago. It is sitting on a pedestal container along with a green ring and a berry ring.

At night we turn on the lights. The lanterns are on timers so come on automatically.
This is a warm and cozy room to sit and read. We are having HOT weather again but it will be gone by Fri. and true Fall weather is on the horizon.

And I lit the candle in the pumpkin.

Thanks for your visit.

A Summer Vignette on the Hearth

I am starting to spread some touches of summer around the house. I am using my LARGE collection of shells, placed here and there as a nod to summer. Simple changes take the hearth from Spring to summer. The birds and nests have been taken away and replaced by some shells.
I added some shells to the lantern, inside and on top.
The basket still has the greens ring and I replaced the nest with a starfish.
On the pedestal is another shell, a nautilus.
2 large shells are on each end.

The wooden lanterns are on a remote and a timer so they come on several times each evening.
A favorite shell on top of the lantern, which also is on a timer.

It doesn't take a lot to take a room from one season to the next. Our weather sure is summer: 3 days of mid and high 90's!

Thanks for your visit. It is supposed to be a little cooler today so I hope to get to the pool for awhile. I hope you have a wonderful day!!!

"Owl" Do You Like our Winter Fireplace!

After getting all the Christmas away I did the mantle for the winter. I really enjoy doing this. I had never done "winter décor" til I moved here. Those who follow me, can you believe it has been 4 years already!!??  Hope you like the mantle and hearth! Isn't this little guy cute!? I sat him on a silver candlestick.
His friend sits up higher on a glass candlestick. Candlesticks are not just for candles my friends!!! The LED candles are on timers and have a remote too!
I placed a snowy pine tree on a candle holder too along with a tiny owl.
Another pinecone owl sits on an overturned silver bowl. Icy branches and pinecones add more texture to the area.

This snowy mini wreath surrounds another owl.

At night the candles cast a soft glow.
I had a pine tree on the right side then remembered I had 2 of these snowy white trees!
So the other went on the hearth.
Pine cones fill some spaces too.

The trees have burlap on the bases.
The one on the hearth has 2 tiny owls perched among the branches.
I have some snowflake placemats and they fit perfectly into my white basket/tray!
The 2 carved wooden lanterns are from India. They usually sit on the floor beside the fireplace. I LOVE them ON the fireplace. I think they have found a new home!

I placed a green wreath around the base of one,
and some greens around the other one.
Not sure why the light of the lantern isn't showing well.
I am really enjoying this look for winter! It is very warm and cozy looking to me.

Thanks for your visit.
