Winter Mantle and Hearth 2018

Good morning! I hope you are all warm and cozy. It has been COLD here in Pa.  We had one day in the 50's and we managed to get the outside decorations put away that day, thank goodness as it is back to the teens and 20's now. I am SLOWLY getting Christmas away. I got the living room done so I did a winter mantle and hearth. I didn't do a lot of winter decor as I have in past years. I usually use all of my snowy owls and make a winter arrangement but this year wanted something simpler.

I love, love these 2 bamboo pieces. I got them at the place where I worked several years ago. I added the greenery when I got them. They haven't been on the mantle for awhile so I brought them back.

2 blue and white pots with boxwood balls are next to them.
On the hearth I used my white basket with a snowflake place mat that fits perfectly and surrounded that with
this beautiful candle holder. I filled the candle holder because the carved wooden lanterns are on the hearth so didn't need a candle here.
and a snowy owl on a silver pillar holder. I also placed a pinecone garland around the basket and added some pinecones in that.

It is warm and cozy here at night. I noticed the other day that it was 5:20 and still light outside so the days ARE getting longer! THAT makes me happy!

I added some snowy picks to the cypress greens just for a simple touch of winter.

Thanks so much for your visit! I am still taking down Christmas and should be done soon! I need Joe to help with a couple of things so that is my hold up. he has been busy:)

"Owl" Do You Like our Winter Fireplace!

After getting all the Christmas away I did the mantle for the winter. I really enjoy doing this. I had never done "winter décor" til I moved here. Those who follow me, can you believe it has been 4 years already!!??  Hope you like the mantle and hearth! Isn't this little guy cute!? I sat him on a silver candlestick.
His friend sits up higher on a glass candlestick. Candlesticks are not just for candles my friends!!! The LED candles are on timers and have a remote too!
I placed a snowy pine tree on a candle holder too along with a tiny owl.
Another pinecone owl sits on an overturned silver bowl. Icy branches and pinecones add more texture to the area.

This snowy mini wreath surrounds another owl.

At night the candles cast a soft glow.
I had a pine tree on the right side then remembered I had 2 of these snowy white trees!
So the other went on the hearth.
Pine cones fill some spaces too.

The trees have burlap on the bases.
The one on the hearth has 2 tiny owls perched among the branches.
I have some snowflake placemats and they fit perfectly into my white basket/tray!
The 2 carved wooden lanterns are from India. They usually sit on the floor beside the fireplace. I LOVE them ON the fireplace. I think they have found a new home!

I placed a green wreath around the base of one,
and some greens around the other one.
Not sure why the light of the lantern isn't showing well.
I am really enjoying this look for winter! It is very warm and cozy looking to me.

Thanks for your visit.

ASnowy Owl Winter Mantle and Hearth

After I took the Christmas décor down and put it all away the first thing I did was create a new Winter mantle and hearth. I used some owls that I got last year and a couple of new ones like this little guy! I just love him!
This snowy owl sits on the mantle, I am using snowy greens, pinecones and owls.
On the right side I used 2 glass candlesticks with white candles and white berry rings.

I added some pine cones and a tiny snowy owl.

On the left side is a white lantern with some snowflakes inside.

In the center of the mantle I used a small blue and white vase with a small pine tree surrounded with greens and pinecones.
Since I am using 2 blue and white jars on the hearth I wanted to tie that in on the mantle too.

I used one of my blue and white vases and made a winter arrangement of snowy greens, pine cones and 2 smaller owls.

I sat this little guy on the wintery wreath that is under the vase.
Some large sugar pinecones finish the vignette.

I will be able to enjoy this winter mantle and hearth arrangement for several months. Winter has definitely hit us now. We had very mild weather in Nov. and Dec. but now it is VERY cold, 26 as I write this post. I hope you all can stay warm and cozy

Thanks for your visit!!!
