~~~A Candy Cane Luncheon!!!~~~

Hello my friends! Today I had a small lunch for Yvonne (of STONE GABLE!!!!) and another friend!!!!! I was so happy and excited to have them come to my house! I wanted to make them feel at home and relaxed so set a fun table!!!! I used a red tablecloth, a candy striped place,at, my white charger, red dinner plate, candy swirl dessert plate and white bowl for salad.  The napkin is a CUTE pattern of candy and candy canes!!!! It is gathered in a candy napkin ring!

 At each place we had a candy cane votive holder and red stemmed goblets for our beverages.

 My gingerbread luminary is the centerpiece on a candy swirl cake plate. One of my kindles sits on the GB house and 2 more are perched on the cake plate.

 This little guy just compelted his gingerbread house:)

 A decorative candy cane adorns each glass.

 My gingerbread S and P are put to use.

 I love these sun shadow shots!!!!

 Aren't the napkin rings so cute!!??

 I used my red flatware from Walmart! I love it for the holidays and use it every day!

 Just for pictures, I added my Mr. and Mrs. Claus on each side of the centerpiece. They are both bakers and have their own houses in hand.

 They are both Byers Choice caroler pieces.

 Before we ate I removed the gingerbread house and Santas and placed this candy cane pillar on the table. We had to have room for the FOOD!!!!!:):)

 We had a chicken and broccoli casserole,

 a cranberry and jello mold in a tree plate,

 I placed a small vase of tulips at each place setting too.

 I also love to have a little take home gift for my guests. I filled these bags with Christmas cookies, macaroons, and chocolate covered pretzels.

 We also had a yummy salad of spinach, feta, walnuts, mandarin oranges and pomegranete craisins with a raspberry hazelnut dressing.

I forgot to get a picture of our dessert:( We had brownies with ice cream and fudge sauce!!!! What a wonderful afternoon we had! It was great fun and lots of conversation. ~~~From Summer Bedding to Winter!!!~~~

Well, it's that time of year! The nights are getting colder so it is time to put away (take to the cleaners first) the summer bedding and put on the Winter bedding! Here is what our rom looked like all Spring and Summer. There are sliding glass doors to the right so the sun streams in here in the mornings.

 I found the 2 green pillows with the white squares at Burlington Coat Factory! They have great linens! The PAIR of them were $14.99, I believe!!!!

 Love my monkey pillow! I have had it for years and it travels all over the house:) It worked well with the leaves on the comforter.

 And here is the transition. I put the blanket on too. My hubby gets cold, and I kick everything off or at least have one leg out:):) Does anyone else do that??? I just thought that I am going to change out the jars on the table at the foot of the bed. I do have some very pretty reg pottery pieces that would look PURTY! I will share that later this week.

 This set came from JCPenney a few years ago. It was on sale and I loved the red and gold combo.

 I really like a TOUCH of animal print, so I added these pillows to the mix! Kim at Savvy Southern Style and I both have a pillow addiction!!!!

~~~The (ahem) FUN has begun!!!~~~~

OK, so yesterday when I got home, the house looked like a tornado went through here! Joe had bought new furniture for his office and was removing EVERYTHING from the office in order to paint. Soooo, we have file cabinets, book cases,printer,  and miscellaneous STUFF all over the place. The new furniture, that has to be put together is in boxes in the living room.I YI YI!!!!:):) But, I am THRILLED that we are FINALLY doing the office. It has needed this redo for YEARS and I mean years! So, here is what it looks like right now and I will try to keep you posted. Joe is going to start painting the ceiling now. Thanks for stopping by.
