Winterizing the Breakfast Room with Texture!

I put all the snowmen away last week. But I got busy taking care of Joe and didn't have a lot of time for blogging. But he is doing well so I am back! I hope you like what I did in here. It feels very warm and cozy to me, perfect for this winter weather we are having. Oh and BTW, we are THRILLED that our Eagles WON the Super Bowl last night!!!!! It was hard for me to keep him calm during that GAME!!!! Most of you know that Joe made me this hutch in the last house. I still love it. Especially in the winter, I think about painting it but haven't so far. I love all the baskets on the walls. I added the large basket on top this year for something new.
I love the demijohns I have collected.
In this picture you see the ivy filled bunny but I changed that out as you will see further down in this post.

This is a fairly recent find. I got it at a local antique store.
I got this lamp at Walmart several years ago. It is wood and came with the burlap shade which I love.

I like to soften the line of the hutch with a garland and change them out for the seasons.

I took some shots at night too. And I added these large candle holders with their turned wood bases.
2 burlap pillows are om the end chairs.

The 2 shelf units got a make over too.
The windows in here face south so get sun all day so it is a great spot for plants.
Some more of my baskets are above the windows.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
XO, Pinky

Fall Coffee Table Vignette and New Pillows!

Before I get to the vignette I want to say I have spent all day feeling heartbroken over the massacre in Las Vegas. There are not sufficient words. I have cried many times as I am sure you all have. I pray for all the families of the victims.    Now, here is the post:  A few weeks ago I found these wonderful, blue pumpkin pillows at, of all places, Big Lots! I grabbed 2 quickly!! I knew I would love them in the living room. So, I made a vignette on the coffee table to compliment them. I paired them with my blue leopard print pillows.
The vignette started with this blue faux velvet pillow, perched on a tall blue candlestick.
I nestled the pumpkin on 2 candle rings; the greens one and a blue flowered one.
I wanted to bring something alive into the vignette, so added this African violet that is blooming so beautifully. Another blue "velvet" pumpkin sits next to the violet.

Some lavender from the yard is drying in a blue and white vase. The pagoda lantern has some Fall filler and a candle on a timer so it glows each evening.

This is a pillow cover from PB that I got 2 years ago.

Thanks for your visit!

My LOVE for Blue and White, let's look around

First I want to say I hope you all had a love filled Valentines day! As many of you know, I started collecting blue and white pieces over 30 years ago when we built our last house. I just fell in love with the look so decided I would like to have it in my home. I now have quite a collection and wanted to put it all (well most) in a post. I hope you enjoy. This room has become my favorite since we built this house. Hard to believe it was 4 years in Oct, since we moved in!
The credenza has one jar and next to it I have my garden stool, a large jar on a wooden stand, and a favorite Asian guy.
I keep several pieces in the curio cabinet along with several Hummel pieces. The very large jar was a gift from my son!
The large fishbowl that holds the tree was from our best friends for Christmas many years ago. The tree was made by Joe's brother. I remember the day we all were in our basement and he made it right there for us!
The handled pot is one of my favorites. It holds a faux fern when I don't have a live plant for it.
The tall vase with the handles was a gift from my in-laws.
Some more jars are grouped together next to the elephant from Vietnam.
The tiered stand hold 2 more jars. I change what is on here for the seasons. Soon it will hold some bunnies:)

My Christmas cactus sits here by the window. It actually blooms at Thanksgiving and Easter!
Can you see the buds forming? We should have blooms for Easter:)
2 vases sit on top of the curio cabinet.

I shared this coffee table vignette in my last post.
My jar pillows were a LUCKY find last year. I actually had a store employee climb up on a ladder to get the second one for me:)
This pillow has a very similar design to the pillar candle.
I won this book in a giveaway from Marty at A Stroll Thru Life several years ago.
Tracy gave this to Joe for Fathers day in 2015.. It was in his office but we put it out here when Joe moved the thermostat! The sun streaming in here all day was fooling the heater so Joe moved it. Now it is much better.
I found the bamboo ladder many years ago. Still love it and am glad we have this spot for it.
This table hold several pieces I love. They aren't part of my blue and white collection but are some favorite pieces. The lamp was another gift from our son.
 This little boat is soapstone.

This piece was my in-laws, another treasured piece that we inherited.

I recently got the needle leaf ivy and placed it in the one vase that was my Grandmothers. Another treasured piece.
Thanks for your visit. I am longing for Spring but the weather is not cooperating.
XO, Pinky
