Winterizing the Breakfast Room with Texture!

I put all the snowmen away last week. But I got busy taking care of Joe and didn't have a lot of time for blogging. But he is doing well so I am back! I hope you like what I did in here. It feels very warm and cozy to me, perfect for this winter weather we are having. Oh and BTW, we are THRILLED that our Eagles WON the Super Bowl last night!!!!! It was hard for me to keep him calm during that GAME!!!! Most of you know that Joe made me this hutch in the last house. I still love it. Especially in the winter, I think about painting it but haven't so far. I love all the baskets on the walls. I added the large basket on top this year for something new.
I love the demijohns I have collected.
In this picture you see the ivy filled bunny but I changed that out as you will see further down in this post.

This is a fairly recent find. I got it at a local antique store.
I got this lamp at Walmart several years ago. It is wood and came with the burlap shade which I love.

I like to soften the line of the hutch with a garland and change them out for the seasons.

I took some shots at night too. And I added these large candle holders with their turned wood bases.
2 burlap pillows are om the end chairs.

The 2 shelf units got a make over too.
The windows in here face south so get sun all day so it is a great spot for plants.
Some more of my baskets are above the windows.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
XO, Pinky

Spring Refresh in the Kitchen

I have kept the Spring refresh rather simple this year. I few bunnies, but not too much as we do cook everyday. So I need to keep it functional as well as pretty! One of the best things I like to do in the Spring is bring in some flowers and plants! I found these 2 African violets at the grocery store. I chose them because I loved the color and the ruffled edges on the violets!
The white petals rimmed with green are beautiful to me. The little pale blue pots match my utensil holder perfectly. Later, in the summer I will repot them.

I made this arrangement many years ago. Just different types of greens and grasses and the sweet bunnies burrowed in there.
I found this beautiful blue and white bowl for a song so got it for our fruit. My blue bunny wishes I would put some lettuce in there:)
MANY years ago I bought this Bunny planter for my Aunt Bunny with whom we lived. She was like another Mother to me, I adored her. It is probably over 50 years old by now, so I treasure it. Hard to believe it has survived so many moves. I placed a tiny ivy in it for now.

My little bunny in his hutch.
I found these faux chocolate bunnies at K Mart several years ago, 3 sizes and I got all 3. I am so glad I did, as I never saw them again.
Here is another one along with a faux chocolate bowl and eggs.

Over on the buffet area I placed my script bunnies.
And my 2 little sheep, bunny bowl and chick plate round out the vignette.
Isn't she cute in her Easter bonnet?

On top of the fridge is a large stone LOOKING bunny, he is actually light as a feather.
2 pretty tea towels are always on the oven door.

Thanks so much for your visit!

Another Great Find!

On Tuesday I had to take my car to be serviced. I asked a girlfriend if she wanted to meet me and we could go to lunch. When she picked me up, she asked if I wanted to go to Home Goods first. Well, YEAH! I wasn't looking for anything but the I spied something. I figured it would be too expensive because I have seen these online for more than twice what I paid! I actually have been looking for one for several months. I could not get this item into my cart fast enough:) This beautiful blue and white garden stool is my latest new piece to add to my collection.
I love it! The design is so pretty.

I went right out to purchase a pretty plant to sit on it. I have been wanting a pothos fro awhile but could only find little ones. This one I found at Lowes.
I had this planter and the plant fits in it perfectly. I think the design on the planter looks beautiful with the design on the garden stool.

I placed it next to the fireplace. It will probably move around but I like it here right now.

As you can see, I still have the winter décor on the fireplace and hearth, BUT, as you are reading this it is being put away to make room for SPRING! I am getting out the bunnies and other Spring things now. Our weather has been beautiful, like a roller coaster actually. 73 yesterday and today as you read this it is cold and blustery again. But I am READY for Spring!

How about you? Are you ready too!?

I  obviously feel I can never have too much blue and white!
