A New Table with a Pop of Color

Since I had to take all the bird plates etc. off the dining table for our dinner group last weekend, I decided to do a new table in here. It's very basic with a pop of color. I love using black and white and then just add a pop of whatever color you like. For early Summer, I chose yellow! I am using my Napolean Bee flatware all summer. I love this pattern! I also have a love of any dishes with pretty edges. 

 The design on the corner of the place mat matches well with the design on the wine glasses. They were my Grandmothers so I treasure them.

 I would love to find a taller black and white candle. But the design matches perfectly with the salad plates!

 I gathered a black and white napkin with a solid yellow in a plain white ceramic ring.

 I would never use a large centerpiece like this if we were eating at the table but this is just to greet our guests. I love to keep a table set here.

 As you enter the house this room is right to the right.

 At dusk I lit the candles and turned on the light.

 Such a pretty glow.

Gardening and Nesting at the Table

I set a new table for us using one of my favorite runners and birds and nests!

 A green and white place mat provides the base for the setting. Then I added a cut out charger, a lime green dinner plate, a pretty designed green and white salad plate and a bird nestled down into a "nest" that is created with a tiny twig wreath and a green candle holder.

 A green and a white bird flank the centerpiece.

 For the centerpiece I used a round basket and gathered some gardening elements:

 I got this at Kirklands years ago but still love it.

 I added the topiary for height, the nest, a small watering can, some clay pots and a gardening rake.

 My watering can S and P are perfect for this table too.

 These are actually place card holders. I just tucked them down into the napkins and laid them on the white ceramic napkin ring.

 I didn't get any night time shots with the candles lit.

THanks for your visit. We are now having SUMMER weather; yesterday was 88 and today is to be 90. Crazy. Then we got back to the 60's again. I think Mother Nature is confused:)

Falling Leaves at The Table!

I am resharing this table from last year. I had intended to continue my Fall tour but didn't get pictures taken before I left....I am at the beach! I hope you will enjoy seeing this one again. I set a new everyday table for Fall. The colors were inspired by the garland. What beautiful colors of Fall! For the runner I just flipped over a printed runner to this pretty green side. The leaf plates I have had for several years. I added some Indian corn to the setting that picks up the colors of the plates.

A faux pumpkin sits on top. My green flatware makes another appearance.

I gathered 2 napkins; a plain gold and the flowery print in a flower napkin ring.

 I love the colors in this garland.

 And the leaf goblets, (from Dollar Tree several years ago), go so well! Along with a green candle holder and maroon votive.

 My centerpiece is a mix of acorns in a metal cloche.

 These pumpkins have a hole in the bottom to place a tea light. I use the LED ones.

Fall Tour: the Dining Room

As you walk into the house the first room you see is the dining room on your right. I love to set a table for each season so that our guests feel welcomed. I set the table just for YOU, as you are our guests too! Come on in and have a seat!

 The colors for the table are dictated by the runner that I got last year. I love the sparkle and the black, gold, and silver colors! I found the pumpkin salad plates at Home Goods last year too. I LOVE them!!

 The beaded placemats are new this year. I found them at CTS!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe that? I did a happy dance when I saw them:)

 I placed some of my favorite pumpkins on candle sticks to rise them for a beautiful centerpiece. They wander down the center of the table.

 This glittery, sequined pumpkin is so beautiful in person!

 2 more pretty pumpkins on candle sticks. Candle sticks are great things to use to rise things to a height to display them beautifully!

 The pumpkin and leaf pillows were found last year (after the season) at Bed Bath and Beyond. For the black pillow I just turned a printed one around!

 The dinner plate is my good china.

A glass pumpkin and

 and glass gourd.

 Now, let's light the candles!!!

 I had some tiny candles and then also put some votive candles in some mercury glass votive holders.

 The flatware is my good flatware that has a bamboo design.

 The napkins are hand embroidered. They were my MIL's and came from Italy.

 I would love to have a small, intimate dinner party at this table. Who wants to join us???:)
