A Mother's Day Gift means a new Vignette

Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's day! I sure did and if you follow me on Facebook you can see some pictures. Joe bought me a GORGEOUS orchid so that meant a new vignette on the coffee table. I really love it and am going to TRY to keep it alive:) It is the most beautiful color!

 This flower on the back is so pale and I imagine it will deepen.

 I made the vignette in my white metal tray that I love for Spring.

 I had to use a piece that would be tall enough to work with the height of the orchid.

 This guy is one of my favorite Asian pieces.

 Of course a nest was added for Spring.

 I placed 2 of my pear candles in a blue and white bowl.

 And at night I lit the candles.

Blue and White Coffee Table Vignette

I decided to change the coffee table a few days ago. Now that I am featuring nests and birds for Spring, those are the elements I decided to use....for now:) You know I keep changing things. I placed a colorful candle ring and then a nest onto my light blue candle holder. I wanted to tie in the colors of the pillows on the sofa.

 My spathillium is blooming, and the blooms is so pretty it almost looks fake!

 I potted it in one of my blue and white pots.

 I still have these pillows on the sofa as they are bright and cheerful for Spring!

 The flowers in the ring go so well

 with the flowers on the pillows.

 I added this tiny nest to the plant too.

 This white bird figurine moved over here from the breakfast room. Just shop your house to change things up!

 A small lidded jar finishes the vignette. Everything is corralled in this textural basket.

Thanks for stopping by. Right now I am in PAIN with my back. I even had Joe go to CVS to get me one of those new "tens units". It did work along with a muscle relaxer and a prescription for Ibuprophen. I hope by the time you read this tomorrow, I will feel MUCH better.

Peonies, Outside and In!!!

I have always loved peonies but have never been able to grow them....til NOW!!! I was so excited to see their little buds appear. Then little by little they started to open. AHHHH....

 Each flower is a little different, but all are beautiful!

 Aren't the buds just lovely!

 They opened pretty fast, within 2 or 3 days!

 So, I clipped some and brought them in to enjoy!

 I found my piece of blue coral and so since it is after Memorial day, I thought it could be added to the vignette on the coffee table.

 I am so enjoying these beauties....

 and my piece of coral!

Changes on the Coffee Table

I have cabin fever BAD and when that happens I need to change things up! So, I put away the winter vignette and did a "between Winter and Spring" vignette.  I started with one of my favorite elephants.

 This was what I had here for the last few weeks after Christmas was put away.

 I love the colors in him, I forget where I got him cause I have had him for so long. He moves around the house. Update: I just went to see if I still had the tag on him and he came from TJMaxx. I am bad with not taking tags off things:)

 This is a little rickshaw that I painted black years ago and filled with some greens.

 My pottery bowl came over here for awhile. It sits on an Asian inspired and shaped tray.

 It is filled with decorative balls and topped with a large antler shed.

 I turned the runner over to the plain side and topped it with 2 placemats with great texture.

 Of course one thing leads to another so the sofa pillows had to change.

 Later I added a candle on a stand for some evening ambiance.

 It was a cloudy, gray day when I took these pictures.

 Today the sun came out a LITTLE so I snapped another. Not alot of difference. Thanks for your visit. XO, Pinky
