Flowers and early eveing

Good morning! And Welcome August!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Ours was delightful as our HOT and HUMID weather finally broke and we have had a few days of low 80's with almost no humidity. I am LOVING it, but today the humidity and 90's return. Well, it IS August, right? The other night, I went out to water so took some shots around the yard. My hydrangea bushes are blooming beautifully. These pink ones are so beautiful!
This is a water hibiscus. We have 2 plants at the edge of the pond, one IN the pond and one in a pot on the patio. The blooms are as large as a dinner plate!
This is the bud, before it opens.
My pots on the patio wall are doing well. Usually at this time of year they start to look a little tired.

The limelight hydrangeas are about at their peak. I am cutting some in various stages of color to dry and preserve. They are so pretty in Fall arrangements.

I THINK these are called Japanese painted fern. They are lacy and compact.

My container on the deck table is really going crazy!
When I came inside I took some shots as it is such a pretty time of night.
I changed up the mantle last week. I like the lighter, airier look.

This is my comfy space. I sit here when it is too hot to go out and read. I love sitting out on the patio to read too, when it is comfortable:)
Then I took some shots of the sunset. The colors didn't show well: they were a very BRIGHT orange in the sky. Just so beautiful!

Thanks for your visit.

Amazing Water Hibiscus!!!

When we did the pond Joe planted these water hibiscus in 2 pots in the pond and 2 more plants around the pond. Well, this year they have GROWN crazily!!! These 2 plants that are beside the pond probably have close to 40 blooms right now!!! Each bloom is like the size of a dinner plate!!!
We were expecting rain when I took these pictures so the cushions and pillows were put away.
Joe and I decided that after these 2 plants are finished blooming, we are going to move them to another place in the yard. It is too much, and to us detracts from the pond now. The plants die back each winter so all this came up this year!

From here you can't even see the pond so we will plant something that stays low.

One of the plants that was in the pond was removed and put in a LARGE pot that we had. It is doing fine in the pot, amazingly:)

Have you ever seen these? Now that we have them I see them all over but never noticed them before. Like the other hibiscus, the blooms only last a day.
Thanks for your visit.
XO, Pinky

Come Walk with Me!

I am sharing some pictures around the pond today. Everything is growing like crazy! We have had ALOT of rain and now are having tropical heat and humidity, it is oppressive here right now. But, these beautiful water hibiscus are blooming and look SO pretty! The blooms are the size of a dinner plate!!!!I love the color too!
Do you see all the buds that will open too!?
New this year, lupines! One purple and one reddish pink.

I had another plant in this pot but it died, too much rain I think. So I got this mini sunflower at the grocery the other day.
The ceramic fish are candle holders. Got them years ago and love them.

This hydrangea is a pretty, DEEP pink.
These are almost multi colored. Each bloom has several colors!

I am trying to keep up with the outside now too, cause poor Joe can't do anything right now. His hip replacement surgery can't come soon enough! NEXT Monday!!!

This is cardinal flower. The hummingbirds love it! It likes wet feet and can even be planted IN the water.
A solar powered turtle hangs out near the pond.
The limelight hydrangea tree is blooming now!

Thanks for stopping by. I will be sharing at these fun parties:
