Dining on the Deck!

We have had several real nice evenings that allow us to eat outside on the deck. I try to take advantage of any opportunity we get because as FAST as summer is going, I know we won't get these opportunities for too long. I LOVE eating outdoors. I found these dishes last year and dug them out to use. I have plants in blue pots out here on the deck so it all blends nicely.
 The turtles are so cute and since the deck overlooks the pond they are fitting.
 I have had these napkins for ages, found them at Goodwill years ago and can't believe how well they go with the dishes! I stacked 2 outdoor placemats that go so well with the dishes.
 I had gathered a plain blue napkin and the print one in a white ceramic ring.

 Green flatware is used again here. I am sorry for the glare on the dishes but I couldn't avoid it.
 The stems as well as the plates are all acrylic. Perfect for outdoors with no worry of breakage.
 After I set the table I remembered I had these fish napkin rings!  Perfect!!!
 We are enjoying many meals out here. That is one of the best things about summer for me, being able to eat outside. How about you, do you enjoy it too?

Thanks for your visit. Is summer flying by for you too? I always start wishing it lasted longer around this time each year.  Have a beautiful day, my friends.

A New Runner Means a New Barscape!

I decided that since I have added blues to the kitchen I wanted to change the bar scape to go with that. I sent for this new runner from an Etsy shop and love it!
 Of course I wanted to use my pedestal birds and placed them on wooden stands. They each sit on a candle ring.
 A pale blue bird sits in the cloche on a bed of fluff and another, larger candle ring.

I really like the pattern on this runner too.

 I placed my blue LED candles onto cut glass pillar holders and found these pretty candle rings at Joann Fabric!
 I like having something on the breakfast bar all the time. But I keep it simple so it doesn't block my view of the living room from the sink.

~~~Fall in the Guest Room~~~
It’s chill November weather,
the firelight’s on the wall.
Home, dear home, is best of all,
Let’s thank God together.
~ Henry Alford 1850
It IS getting chilly here now on the first of Nov. Since I am going to have my sister up here from Fl. for Thanksgiving, I decided to make the guest room cozy and welcoming for her. I changed out the bedding and added some new accessories. This is how the room looks as you enter the room.
 I just added a fall candle ring and cut out pumpkins to the bedside tables.
 I used throw pillows from my stash....I have a "pillow problem" as you know:) The comforter is just the reverse side of the original one I had on here when we moved in. Just a plain tan color, a basic neutral that I wanted to build on. The trunk at the bottom of the bed can be used to store the throw pillows at night.
 I love this pedestal basket and filled it with different balls, some deer sheds from my BIL, and some turtle shells from my BIL too. He is a hunter and lived in Michigan and would walk the woods looking for sheds etc.
 I added a fall leaf and berry garland to the basket above the bed too.
 As you can see the front pillow has a TOUCH of blue to tie it to the curtains etc.
 I made these wall baskets MANY years ago. They have some pineapples in them, which is the symbol for hospitality so pefect for the guest room.
 I also painted the bases, they were white when I bought them.
I am hoping my sister will be comfortable and warm on our chilly nights. I am so looking forward to seeing her and having her meet our Colleen!!!!!!!!
~~~Shells on the Breakfast Bar~~~~

Happy Monday everyone. this will just be a short post because I have actually set another table for this week but realized I never showed you this! So, here are a few pictures of a barscape I set up a few weeks ago and forgot to show you. I will post my new table tomorrow, so please come back:) I got these new shell cereal bowls cause I eat cereal every morning. I love the raised shells design on them.

 You have seen all these other dishes recently, I know.  I did use the 2 shell chargers that I have too.
 Placed a starfish in each bowl.

 This is one of 2 matching topiaries I just got at Home Goods, the other day.
 This candle smells SO good, I have been burning it each morning.
 My aqua bubble goblets are perfect here.

 So, there you have it. Thanks so much for your visit. Please leave me a comment so I know you were here! XO, Pinky
