A Little Summer Tour, and some new finds!!!!

I thought I would bring you along on a little tour of my home all dressed for Summer. It sure IS summer with temps in the mid 90's and "feel like" temps of over 100. The older I get the worse it gets to me. I used to be able to bake out in the sun but NO MORE!!! So let's come inside where it is nice and cool and look around! I added some of my shell collection to the stairs.

In the dining room I set a table featuring shells on the runner, on the dishes and on the placemats and garland!

Keeping it simple on my tiny server.
I hadn't shown you, but we placed this picture here in the dining room. It had been in the foyer when we moved in then was replaced by the large mirror. I missed this picture so here it is. I think it looks beautiful in here.

When you come in the front door and look to the left, this is what you see.
On the credenza I added some more shells.

This large jar is a new purchase. Actually I should call it a steal as I got it at Home Goods for a STEAL!!!!
I fell in love with it the minute I saw it.
Over by the chair I have more of my blue and white jars.
The mantle features more shells tucked in with the jar and lantern and garland.

These 2 light blue embroidered pillows are another recent purchase. Another steal! They are very well made and came in a pair for.....are you ready....$6.99 for the pair!!!!! My koi pillow is a very favorite. All 3 of these pillows were purchased at Burlington Coat Factory! They have beautiful linens for fabulous prices!

On the round table there is a large, knobby starfish, and some other shells.
A shell candle holder with a LED candle sit on one of my elephants from Vietnam.
I LOOOOVE these elephants! I inherited them from my in-laws.
This is the summer vignette on the coffee table.
The view from the living room into the kitchen.
And I will wind up with a picture of the coral pillows on the master room bed. We have a project going on in here that I hope to be able to share with you soon!!!!

Thanks so much for your visit!

Spring/Easter Mantle and Hearth

I have done the mantle and hearth very differently this year. It is
all part of my lightening up and using my blue and white pieces for Spring and Summer. I was looking to get a white bunny with a basket on his back....and I found that AND this one! I filled his cabbage shaped pot with various eggs.
I used 2 different white bushes in this handled pot and..
I kept the glass and silver candle sticks on this side. Just white candles and white berry rings.

On the hearth I am using blue and white pieces, candles and a little greenery.
I love this white basket, found very inexpensively. This is the other bunny I found with a basket on his back, that I filled with tiny faux flowers.
A stem with a nest and pastel flowers is between the large jar and bunny and then one of my blue LED candles completes this little vignette.

I was so excited to find these blue LEDs at Joann Fabric for half price!
I added some white faux tulips and blue berry stems to my tall vase.
The tiny pot holds some more eggs.
I am liking this lighter and brighter look for Spring! AND, Mother Nature is cooperating; we are having temps in the 70's this week!!! I am LOVING it!!

I remembered I had this piece and so added 2 different blue grasses, blue and white eggs, a sweet lamb and a candle.
 Night time view.

Thanks so much for your visit. I hope you are having some nice Spring like weather where you are!

Something New to Greet You!

Actually nothing is new on the credenza but I have never used any of these pieces HERE. After taking the winter décor down I wanted to add even more blue and white to this area. Also, Joe is emptying the bonus room upstairs in preparation for his TRAINS! The entire room will be filled with them. We had a room full at the old house and I will share the link to that at the end of this post if you would like to take a peek:) This will be even bigger and better since he will have much more room.
Anyway, back to the post!! Welcome to my home! I have a pair of these palm tree lamps that I love! I decided to use it here for now, I love it here! The rattan shade brings a beautiful glow in the evening. Note: I am not sure why the lamp looks crooked...it isn't in real life!)
One of my favorite lidded jars sits next to the lamp.
On the other side another lidded jar.
I made a little arrangement in one of my large vases with things in my stash:)

This little lady is made with a stone like material. She is so cute to me!

So, that's my new welcome for now. Even though it is only Feb. since Easter is just a few weeks away I got all the bunnies out. I will be sharing them soon. I hope you have a most beautiful day. Here, we are experiencing torrents of rain but I will not complain. My new mantra is to find the good in every day! I am trying:):)

ASnowy Owl Winter Mantle and Hearth

After I took the Christmas décor down and put it all away the first thing I did was create a new Winter mantle and hearth. I used some owls that I got last year and a couple of new ones like this little guy! I just love him!
This snowy owl sits on the mantle, I am using snowy greens, pinecones and owls.
On the right side I used 2 glass candlesticks with white candles and white berry rings.

I added some pine cones and a tiny snowy owl.

On the left side is a white lantern with some snowflakes inside.

In the center of the mantle I used a small blue and white vase with a small pine tree surrounded with greens and pinecones.
Since I am using 2 blue and white jars on the hearth I wanted to tie that in on the mantle too.

I used one of my blue and white vases and made a winter arrangement of snowy greens, pine cones and 2 smaller owls.

I sat this little guy on the wintery wreath that is under the vase.
Some large sugar pinecones finish the vignette.

I will be able to enjoy this winter mantle and hearth arrangement for several months. Winter has definitely hit us now. We had very mild weather in Nov. and Dec. but now it is VERY cold, 26 as I write this post. I hope you all can stay warm and cozy

Thanks for your visit!!!
