Fall in the Breakfast Room!

I love decorating this space every Fall! I don't do "the softer side of Fall" I LOVE the colors of Fall! However, there are no bright oranges, I try to stick to the rusts, browns etc. As many of you know, Joe built me this hutch. We saw a larger one in Lancaster county and he asked if I would like something like that. Of course!!! So he made a sketch on a scrap of paper, came home and made it for me!!! This was when we lived in the old house.

 This little cart usually does stay here. I just added some faux Fall berries to the greens. Then I flanked that with 2 pumpkins.

 I'll show you each shelf

 I love adding garlands to the shelves too.

 The top of the hutch usually has a lantern and the bottle and demijohn.

 For Fall I placed some Fall stems in the bottle.

 I love this pear made from wood chips.

 The pumpkin dish came from where I used to work many years ago.

 The 2 shelf units on each side of the room get dressed for the seasons too.

Simple Changes for a New Table!

Just by switching out a few things you can create a whole new table! That is what I did this week. I removed all the things related to Easter and just replaced them with "Spring" elements! As you can see I kept the centerpiece and will probably keep it for awhile. It is pretty when you first walk into the house.

 I switched out the egg shaped bunny plates for these flowered plates. The yellow flowers are perfect with the flowers in the garland! And blue and green is my favorite combo right now for Spring!!

 I have these pretty pear candles so put them in the etched glass candle holders, replacing the eggs.

 I then added some pears to the garland.

 The flowers on my Grandmother's glasses are so pretty!!!!

 I also placed a pear at each place setting.

 Easy peasey, simple but elegant.

Pears, Burlap and Greens at the Table

Yesterday I spent almost all day removing the gingerbread bar and all the snowmen from the kitchen and breakfast room, cleaning it all, then redecorating it all. I also had to set a new table to go with the new décor! I am featuring pottery, baskets and greens all over this space so wanted a pretty, but  simple table for us. I hope you like it too! I started with a beige tablecloth and layered a burlap runner over that.

 The stack started with a wicker placemat, a green square dinner plate, and embossed creamy plate and my green leaf bowls.

 A faux pear sits in the bowls.

 A burlap covered votive holder and a yellow pear.

 The centerpiece is contained in a low sided tray. I used a hurricane candle holder with a LED candle in it and a grapevine ball on top. The cloche sits on a bark slice and has a combo of the yellow and brown pears.

 It feels so clean and refreshed in here now, I am loving it.

 I love the simplicity of this centerpiece.

 I gathered 2 napkins; a leaf print one and a burlap TYPE napkin.

 Love the texture of the dishes and placemat.

 My wicker covered S and P are perfect.

 Clear bubble glasses are a staple.

 It's dinner time, let's light the candles! As you can see there is still snow on the ground but with temps going into the 60's today a lot will melt! I am ready for green grass and warmer temps!!!

 After I had the table set, I was downstairs looking for something and came across the pear dishes I have!

 I love these and am so glad I remembered them!

~~~Dinner With The Crafty Ladies!!!~~~

 HI everyone!!! I hope you are trying to keep COOL in this crazy heat! Last night I hosted 4 ladies for a dinner. We call ourselves The Crafy Ladies, because we started out getting together to do a craft. We still do but last night was just dinner. I wanted to have them since it might be the last time I could have them in this house! My colors were chosen because I wanted to use my hydrangeas that are now turning a beautiful green! 2 years ago we used my hydrangeas for the centerpieces for our daughter's wedding!!!! SO, since Black and White with a touch of green is a favorite color combo of mine, that is what I did.

 I found these great PEAR candles a few years ago at Home Goods so I placed fresh pears in the bowls. I love to use fresh flowers and fruits. The pears don't LOOK to great but were the ONLY ones at the grocery and they TASTE wonderful!!!!

 Aren't the candles pretty!?

 I used a white tablecloth for a cool background, a green and white placemat, a rustic rattan charger, a green dinner plate, solid white dessert plate, black and white scroll salad plate and the bowl on top.

 The print of the salad plate matches very well with the npkins! The wire nest votive holders gave another touch of casualness to the table.

 This was our entree, Monterey Chicken. I will share the recipe this week. It was DELICIOUS!!!!

 Baked squash was our vegetable. I will be sharing all of these recipes since they all were great!!!!

 and this sald of arugula, watermelon, feta and mint was outstanding!!!

 Oh honey! I could have eaten that whole bowl:)

 It was served with this wonderful, citrus dressing. In my cabbage gravy boat that I found recently at....Home Goods!!!! Yes, I do practically live there:):)

 At the end of the table, I placed the dessert dishes, along with the forks, on a cake plate. They are ready to be used at the end of our meal.

 While I was doing the table and before I cut the hydrangeas I put my faux arrangement on the table so I knew what size I wanted. I used a green goblet and a clear goblet for our drinks.

 See how lovely the napkin is with the plate?

 My frog S and P joined us at the table.
