Things are Blooming Around Here!!!

I have been so busy this week that I haven't gotten a chance to put a post together for today. So, I took some snaps of things around the garden. I didn't get everything, just some pots and things but hope you enjoy. I know I have told you before but this pot came from my friend, Shirley at Housepitality Designs. I will always treasure it. Rosebud was my Mom's nickname! This year it houses a red geranium.
 My color scheme this year is red and orange flowers. These salmon geraniums fill the bill.

 The fish all gather whenever we go to the pond, they think we will feed them every time we show up:)
 We have counted 44 fish, they multiplied over the winter:) The plant that is putting out green is a water hibiscus. The flowers it produces are like the size of a dinner plate!!!!!!!!! I will share them when they bloom.
 The water iris has buds, they will bloom soon.
 We got this bird bath last year. I haven't gotten a shot of a bird bathing yet, I have seen them just don't have the camera at the time.
 The Japanese maples are all leafed out and beautiful.
 One of my frogs, by the pond. Last night Joe counted 12 frogs in the pond!!!!

 The lily of the valley is blooming!!!
 I got a red geranium for this hook out front.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!!!! I am partying here:

Some New Copper in the Kitchen!

Yesterday I was at Home Goods and they have gotten alot of new copper pieces in! I was drawn right to it. I used to have a very nice collection of copper pieces and then got rid of all of it several years ago....pre blogging and pre this house. I am loving it again so am collecting, slowly. I only buy nice copper pieces and on sale:) As something new comes in then the moving dance begins again. One thing leads to other things moving :)  This is how this wall looked yestersday. I decided I wanted the new copper piece where the basket with the hanging plant is. I also may move the Hummel bee rings, I know where they will look very nice.
 I thought I would show you what is also here, a gift I got from Colleen at Christmas:):) This will NOT move!
 I will share where this ends up soon. I love this basket as it has an iron scroll top and bottom that is hidden by the plant right now. Did you notice the pottery wall swith cover?
 Here is the new pot in place! It came with a paper that said it was solid copper and it has the nice heavy handles too. LOVE it!
 A few weeks ago I got this copper colander. I used to have one just like it. It, too, has the nice heavy handles. Next to it on the wall is a fish mold that I love too. I am seriouly thinking about getting a pot rack and if I do I will then I will hang some copper on it and other neat things!
 I know this basket looks dusty in the pictures but I cleaned it and it must be the way the sun is shining on it.
 When I turned the kitchen lights up it looked better:)

So there you have it. Do you like copper? I was silly when I got rid of it cause I thought it was not "in style" anymore. I now use what I love and do NOT follow trends or fads. My advice to anyone is to fill your home with what YOU love. Have a beautiful weekend my friends.
XO, Pinky

~~~Landscaping the New House....starting over~~~
You all know that we moved here in Oct. The builder puts in the basic builder package of landscaping and maintains that. However if you want more, YOU maintain anything else. Oh, and AFTER you get your plans approved:):0 We got ours approved last week so Joe started right away. here is what is DONE so far. He dug out and planted on the left side of the walkway and made a little curve at the end by the driveway. We got some new bushes and moved some others.
 Joe LOVED red flowers and these azaleas are a pretty red shade. One of my pagodas fits nicely here at the end.
 At the corner of the walkway I now have 3 pots of flowers. When we get our deck built I will be able to move the pots back there.
 While I was snapping these pictures, I noticed 3 gold finches on the feeder.
 The peach geranium was a gift from my daughter on Mother's day. I love the color!
Thanks for stopping by. I will join these parties:
~~~Look What I got!!!~~~

I have to give a BIG shout out to Shirley of Hospitality Designs. She did a post recently about her new potting bench that she made. First of all it is adorable. When I saw it, right away I noticed a pot on it that said "Rosebud". My heart skipped a beat cause that was my Mom's nickname, in the family and then it got shortened to Buddy as she got older.  I e-mailed Shirley and asked her that if she EVERwanted to get rid of that pot to please let me know and I would buy it from her and I told her why. Right away she wrote back and said she would send it to me, now!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it, but she said she was happy it would mean something to someone. So, it arrived in the mail and I finally went and got some flowers to plant in it. Shirley also told me that it was writ
ten around the pot, "Gather Ye Rosebuds".

 I put 3 little annuals in it today. 2 of them are called Torenia; one pink and one purple, and then I also added a varieated vinca, to trail. I just LOVE this pot. After summer is over I have plans to put succulents in it for the winter. NEXT summer (or maybe this summer, we will have a deck and I can have it on the table on the deck!

 It is sitting next to my Bunny. "Bunny" was my Aunt's name and she helped raise my sister and I. Our Dad died when I was 4 and my sister was 2.
 Every time I see this, I will think of them both and say a prayer for them.I can't thank you enough, Shirley!
Isn't the flower on the torenia pretty!?

Thanks so much for your visit. There is LOTS going on around here! We finally got our landscaping plans approved so we have begun to do our beds. I can't wait to share them with you all! This is very exciting to me, I love to garden and be surrounded by flowers and pretty shrubs. We have purchased alot and are also bringing some things from the old house! That makes me happy too. Now all we have to do is GET IT SOLD!!!!!!!!!!! XO, Pinky
