Changing the hutch for late Spring with Birds

I put almost all of the bunnies away but kept some of my favorites out as we have bunnies outside too! One lived under my neighbors deck last year and I loved seeing him/her? So, after Easter, I changed things up with my birds, birdhouses, gardening things etc. We are doing lots of yardwork outside too. I always enjoy changing things up on this hutch. It is one of my favorite things cause Joe made it for me. This piece is actually a candle holder but I did a little arrangement in the "nest" that can hold a candle.
 I also changed out the arrangement on the top. I had the one with flowers and egg picks and changed to this rattan covered vase with a spray of white flowers.
 The bottom shelf kept the bunny on the stand and then I added some birds.
 On the middle shelf is a platter that was a gift from Joe's cousin when her brother was battling cancer and I went to all his appts. with him.
 I love this saying and the designs on it too. I placed a shovel that has a pot with an egg on it.
 Top shelf has 2 birdhouses and my lamp.
 I have a set of 3 of these little gardening girls:)

 I got this birdhouse many years ago up in Lancaster county.  The bird on the stand is new this year.

 I always add some greens around the base of the lamp to hide the cord.

 My gardening bunny stayed on the top of the hutch.
 I added a few flowers to my bunny bucket.

Thanks so much for your visit. We are set to have summer like temps on Thurs., Fri. and Sat. In the 80's so we are having another roller coaster of temps as it has been in the 50's yesterday, and today.
XO, Pinky

Spring in the Breakfast Room, 2016

It was time to transition from Easter to Spring! We are finally having GORGEOUS Spring weather and I am loving every minute! We are getting the pond all set, edging beds and got all the mulching done. And by we I mean Joe:):) But, back to the house! I put away ALMOST all of the bunnies but I love them so left a few out:) I love using birds, nests, birdhouses etc. for Spring décor!!!
 I redid the décor on hutch that Joe made. The bicycle planter on the bottom shelf is a favorite piece of mine.
 This birdhouse holds a ceramic bird and a nest on a bed of fluff.
 On this side I have another birdhouse and an embellished nest. It reminds me of the nest that is outside in my wreath. It holds 5 new baby birds right now!!! The eggs looked just like these but there were 5 of them!
I love this little bottle vase. I fill it with different things for the seasons. Right now it holds some pretty pink flowers and a few daisies. I found this trowel last week.
 My wire cloche is a staple here on this hutch. Now it holds a ceramic bird on a ball and underneath is a found nest from the yard.
 This birdhouse was hand painted and decorated by my friend and I bought it from her at a garage sale MANY years ago:)
 This is one of my favorite lamps! I will never get rid of this one:)

 I love this little plant holder, it looks like a bird on a branch.

 So this will be my Spring décor for awhile. I hope the weather where you are has gotten nice too!!! The only thing I may change is I might do a flower arrangement in the demijohn on top.

Thanks for your visit!

Summer Changes in the Breakfast Room

I am always changing the hutch in the breakfast room, it seems. I love to change things seasonally but also to mix things up a bit!!! I also change the 2 shelving things (that are actually plant stands). I got them MANY years ago and now they live in the breakfast room. Here is what we have right now!
 Since we have been gardening outside ALOT, I am using alot of gardening elements in this room for now.  Birdhouses, gardening implements, birds etc.
 My birdhouse lamp is one of my favorites.

 For those of you who don't know, Joe built this hutch for me. We saw one very similair up in Lancaster county and he made a sketch on a piece of scrap paper and came home and built it for me!!! He did it like the Amish do: you can not see ANY nails or screw. Great craftmanship!!!!
 My large birdhouse sits on top now. And some bee skeps that I love.
 I love the galvanized wartering can and placed one of my gardening figurines on the edge.

 I kept this large bunny out because I just love him!
 I made this napkin holder many years ago too; painted it and added the flowers, bird and pots.

 I also painted this gardening cart, added the flowers and little signs and gardening hat!

I got this green matal jar on our trip to Fl. this past winter. Along with another turtle shell, I just lve them Our neighbor actually has baby turtles that just hatched in her side yard!!!!

 Thanks for stopping by. I want to mention again that many of you who signed up for e-mail notifications are NOT getting them. PLEASE sign up again. Thanks!!!! I am joining:

~~~Feathering Our Nest, Morning Room Table~~~
Good Saturday afternoon. I don't know where the morning went!!! Yesterday I was having some friends over so I spent the night before and the moring yesterday SPIT SHINING the house. The kitchen and Morning room are now dressed in their finest Spring decor:):) I wanted to share some of that with you. Here we go: This is the fabulous faux terrarium that I found at TJMaxx a few months ago and had it filled with bunnies for Easter. Now that I am "feathering our nest", I have brought out the BIRDS, nests, pots, and birdhouses. The air plants that are perched on the top are from Robin of All Things Heart and Home blog. She is the SWEETEST, most generous friend!
 I placed this birdhouse inside and on a little stand to bring it up some.
 This large bird used to live on my windowsill at the other house.
  The whole terrarium is lined with some moss for now.
 I love the 2 topiaries, and on each side of them are these cute wire cages that I found last year. They sit in a nest with a bird who is watching over her eggs. See the little bird on top too?
 A close up of the runner. I have 2 of these runners. I love the colors and design.
 The S and P are watering cans.
 I used a green striped placemat, my square wicker handled chargers, a detailed white plate and my pretty printed salad plates all topped with a twiggy wreath (that I also use as napkin rings) and a bird!
 The white marbled flatware is our everyday flatware for this season.
 I paired it with a printed green napkin. I like all the different hues of green on the table. It reminds me of everything outside that is greening up right now!
So, this will be our table for the coming season. It is simple but so pretty to me. I will share the rest of the kitchen soon. Have a GREAT weekend everyone. We have a day OFF today and are then going to our daughter and SIL's for dinner! XO, Pinky
