My Gingerbread bar in the Kitchen

Good morning friends! I hope you all are warmer than we are, it is freezing here. But at least we didn't get ANY of the snow that they thought we would get. For that I am grateful as I have too much to do to be stuck:) I wanted to share my gingerbread bar in the kitchen today. This is what you see as you enter the kitchen. It makes me smile every morning when I walk out to the kitchen.
This gingerbread house is actually a candle holder. My Joe electrified it for me.
The center house was a gift from him several years ago. I LOVE it. It has so many beautiful details!
This smaller house I found at Christmas Tree Shops years ago and Joe electrified it for me too. Now they all come on together.
Mrs. Claus and Santa are Byers Choice pieces as are the smaller characters. The smaller ones are called Kindles.
Both Mrs, Claus and Santa have baked a gingerbread house!

I like to place some of the Kindles actually ON the house.
I found this little ladder so have one guy up there decorating the house;)
When I got this years ago, that is what started my desire to collect enough pieces to make a gingerbread bar.
Thanks SO much for your visit. Are you still decorating or have you finished? I am done and am so glad I did it early. Have a beautiful day!!!
XO, Pinky

A New Arrangement

Since I have added blues and whites to the kitchen I decided to make a new arrangement for this little space. I usually have some floral arrangement in this space. This vase was the very FIRST blue and white piece I got. It was a gift from my friend, Nancy, when we built our last house. So I have been collecting blue and white for over 30 years now! I had mentioned to her that I was going to start collecting blue and white pieces. I LOVE this vase!

The arrangement cost me nothing, as I had all the flowers in my stash! These light blue hydrangeas are so pretty and realistic looking. Silk flowers have come a LONG way from the days of plastic. UGH, they were SO bad!
The other hydrangeas are a very light green.
I added queen anne's lace, delphinium and greens.
The flowers and vines on the vase are beautiful. I love the touch of gold.

The arrangement is a good transition from the blue and white pieces in the foyer and living room to the kitchen.
Thanks for your visit. I hope you are having better weather than we are:)

An Easter Barscape!

I haven't had a chance to do a new table so have done a "scape" on the kitchen bar! Sometimes I do 2 settings here but right now this is it. Hope you like it! These 2 little bunnies hopped right up onto my wooden pedestals. I surrounded them on a green candle ring and an egg ring. I LOVE these egg rings. They were found at World Market in Fl. a few years ago. I wish I had gotten more!
This is Mr. Bunny. I love to mix 2 different candle rings together.
An old pinkish bunny is nestled under a wire cloche and sits on a ring of forsythia and branches.

I found this adorable dish this year and just couldn't resist. I filled it with pretty faux eggs. If I put candy in there it would be too much temptation for this girl:)
My tiny bunny in a bunny hutch.

This is a favorite runner. I love the bunny scene at each end.

Thanks a bunch for your visit. I will be sharing the dining room soon so stay tuned:)

Spring Mini Tour!!!!!

A few weeks ago I pulled some things out to lighten up the kitchen, breakfast room and foyer. I wanted to share it all with you. Right now, after a VERY cool Spring, we are having summer like temps in the 80's!!! Crazy!  I am starting with this little vignette on top of the fridge.
I put some moss and a bird on my scale. A tin bucket holds a vine ball and a stone bird sits on a little pedestal and is looking at a nest.

The nest leaning on the scale is a found nest from the yard.
On the buffet area I used two birdhouses on the ends and a birdcage that I decorated several years ago.
The little pots of faux herbs are under these cute wire cloches.
I had fun doing this birdcage using bamboo sticks for the pieces for the birds to sit on.

Over by the sink I have the little stool that I found recently and LOVE!!! I put a birdhouse and a nest on it. 2 copper pieces are hung here and a basket.

My bunny lamp is being changed out to my bird lamp.
I shared this arrangement last year, I think. It was premade but then I added to it to make it bigger and taller.
I even found paper towels embellished with clay pots!
Moving over to the breakfast room and the hutch.
I am loving how the different shades of  green look with the new paint!

I have a bird and gardening theme going on. The birdhouse lamp is one of my favorites. I have a thing for lamps too:)

On top of the hutch is a white lantern now, a bottle with some white flowers a bee skep and a demijohn.

I got another bunch of tulips and enjoyed them for at least a week.
I put a tall, narrow vase inside the pitcher to hold the flowers upright.
 SOOO pretty!
In the foyer I added some candle rings and a few other Asian pieces to the steps.
And this abacus that Joe got in his travels is now hanging here.
So that's my mini tour for now. Things change all the time around here.:)
Thanks so much for visiting. I am sharing at these parties:
