~~~Our Trip to Longwood, 6/7/11~~~

Hi everyone! Yesterday morning, Joe and I decided to go to Longwood Gardens before it got too hot. It was beautiful, with a nice breeze blowing! Not like today where it is HOOOOT and HUMID! But we had such a nice day and also had a great lunch there too. So, I will show you some of the sights. As we started there were these beautiful roses. ALL the pictures are from my phone cause I FORGOT my camera!!!! DUMB! But, I was surprised at how well they turned out, especialy because I could hardly tell what I was taking with the sun glare:):)

 This is called the "Eye of Water". It recirculates 5000 gallons of water every minute!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will show you the path it takes. It used to be natural rock and they painted it this awful blue. I thought it was much nicer natural.....

 It starts down the hilly landscape.....

 And it culminates here. Then recirculates back up to the eye. The SOUND of the waterfall is awesome!

 This was an unusual hydrangea, not blooming yet.

 Remember, all of this changes EVERY season!!!!! There were volunteers there from a local company, mulching. They use leaf mulch.

~~~Our Deck, 6/4/11~~~

Hi everyone,I ahve FINALLY been able to upload my pictures! GEESH! On Sat. I CLEANED off our deck. We had had a storm and it was a mess with debris from the trees, leaves , branches etc. So, I got out my blower, my broom and my windex to make it pretty again!!!! I swear, it looked like FALL out there!!!! Ok, here we go. This is one of 2 hanging ivy geraniums.

 The window boxes are filling in so nicely!

 They are all impatiens. We live in the woods so impatiens are good for all the shade we get.

 I have my birdhouse placemats on the table. Don't forget to click on the pictures to enlarge, if you want to! IOn the center of the table is a bird votive holder.

 A look along the back railing. Joe made the new window boxes last year and we stained them black! I love them!

 I got this bench at Lowes last year too. I love the branch design. The seat cushion came with it and differnet pillows. I found these at CTS. They are Sunbrella fabric and were only $4.99 each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Across from the bench is this little table to seat 2. I also have a rectangular top for it to make it bigger for 2 people to eat.

 This is a cutting from the hibiscus that Joe kept alive all winter and it is GROWING!!!!! I am amazed!

~~~A Heart Shaped Egg!!!~~~~~

This is just a silly little post but thought I would show you what happened. Last weekend I was making deviled eggs for a picnic and inside the VERY LAST egg I sliced, the yolk was shaped like a HEART!!!!!!!! A perfect heart! I did scoop it out and use it, but took these pics first. Funny!!!!!!

~~~Decorating my Friends Kitchen!!!~~~

My GOOD friend, Kathy recently moved into a new home. She used to be my next door neighbor. We have known each other since 1974!!!! She asked me to do some decorations for on top of her kitchen cabinets. She has a pretty valance to hang at the kitchen window that is tiny sweetheart roses, so wanted me to use them. I found some GREAT containers to do the arrangements in! I was so excited to find them. They are so "her"!!!!! The beautiful artwork on her fridge is by her grandchildren! Don't forget, you can click on any picture to enlarge.

 I brought a variegated ivy garland, cut it apart and used it between the arrangements to bring it all together.

 Aren't these containers just perfect??!!!!

 I did this arrnagement for where ever she wants it. For now it is on one of her end tables in her living room.
