Some New Copper in the Kitchen!

Yesterday I was at Home Goods and they have gotten alot of new copper pieces in! I was drawn right to it. I used to have a very nice collection of copper pieces and then got rid of all of it several years ago....pre blogging and pre this house. I am loving it again so am collecting, slowly. I only buy nice copper pieces and on sale:) As something new comes in then the moving dance begins again. One thing leads to other things moving :)  This is how this wall looked yestersday. I decided I wanted the new copper piece where the basket with the hanging plant is. I also may move the Hummel bee rings, I know where they will look very nice.
 I thought I would show you what is also here, a gift I got from Colleen at Christmas:):) This will NOT move!
 I will share where this ends up soon. I love this basket as it has an iron scroll top and bottom that is hidden by the plant right now. Did you notice the pottery wall swith cover?
 Here is the new pot in place! It came with a paper that said it was solid copper and it has the nice heavy handles too. LOVE it!
 A few weeks ago I got this copper colander. I used to have one just like it. It, too, has the nice heavy handles. Next to it on the wall is a fish mold that I love too. I am seriouly thinking about getting a pot rack and if I do I will then I will hang some copper on it and other neat things!
 I know this basket looks dusty in the pictures but I cleaned it and it must be the way the sun is shining on it.
 When I turned the kitchen lights up it looked better:)

So there you have it. Do you like copper? I was silly when I got rid of it cause I thought it was not "in style" anymore. I now use what I love and do NOT follow trends or fads. My advice to anyone is to fill your home with what YOU love. Have a beautiful weekend my friends.

~~Dining Room in Winter~~

When Christnas came down I decided to go simple on the dining room table, but want it pretty as it is one of the first things you see as you enter the house. I found these leopard print candle holders recently and they jumped into my cart! I have been looking for some for years.
 They are so pretty to me!
 I found these little seeded rings and the colors are perfect.
 My lantern casts a pretty glow at night.
 These LED candles from Christmas stayed, they go so well with this runner.

 The viw from the foyer.
 In this corner is my teeny server and the vignette here changed too.
 This is one of my favorite jars. It came from Home Goods many years ago.
 I found this piece of rock at a neat store in Florida last year.
 And this lamp was purchased in Fl. MANY years ago:)
 My bamboo framed mirror is perfect in here. I think.

A Simple Lunch Barscape

I set 2 places for us at the kitchen bar for lunch. Chili on a chilly day is a favorite!!! Or if we are out of chili, soup is usually on the menu. Since the snow is falling outside I went very basic; creams and browns, and a touch of black! The placemats combine those colors and are very textural.
 I used my black handled flatware, and the napkin is held in the cups handle.
 If you don't want a warm beverage the rattan covered glasses are the other option.
 Burlap covered votives warm the space.
 I love these dishes with their carved edges.

 The napkins LOOK like burlap but are a soft material. The rattan covered glasses add even more texture to the setting.

Thanks for your visit. I hope you are warm and safe during this Noreaster!!! As I write this I think we will escape the majority of the snow but feel for those of you north of us.

~~~Decorating with Blue and White~~~
I have been tweeking some vignettes around the house, adding some things and just "putzing" as I call it. To me, blue and white is classic and will never go out of style. I have been collecting it for 31 years now. Probably won't buy any more, I don't think I have room for more:) I thought I would share what I have here in my home. You all that follow me have seen these jars on the steps in the foyer since we moved in. At Christmas I use red LED candles but the rest of the time they are these creamy ones.  When we saw the model of this house I knew right away that I would do this and display some of my blue and white jars here, as soon as you walk in.
 Right by the front door is this display. My SIL gave us the little bird house as a housewarming gift so I found this plant stand that would fit perfectly here to hang it. Added the pot of ivy on the shelf.
 In the living room I grouped several vases.
 On this side I have my largest jar, that was a gift from my son. It is definitely my favorite. The planter that the tree is in was a gift many years ago from my best friend. Geesh, actually the corner looks different right now too:) I keep moving things.
 The top of the curio is actually a little different already, I added a sprig of greens up there but the lighting is horrible to get a good shot right now. The curio is filled with more jars and our Hummels.
 This handled basket is another favorite piece. I just added some faux greenery.
 I sit here on the sofa to read so keep a book here under this jar. My elephants are my prized possesions. My FIL brought them back from Vietnam during the war.
 The 2 sofa tables also have jars on them.
 I made this little vignette recently. I just got the flowers that are in the vase today, specifically for this vase. The Asian guy is nice here too.
 Hmm, sorry this one turned out blurry!
Thanks for your visit. I so appreciate you all. I also read every comment and try to reply too. Have a beautiful week. As I type this it is Sunday afternoon and the snow is supposed to start tonight. I think we may not get too much, that the coast will get more. I hope!!!! Stay warm and dry, where ever you are. XO, Pinky
Breakfast Room Changes
I did get tired of looking at the snowmen, even though winter has just really begun! I am sick of it already though! So, I took them all down and packed them away, CLEANED the kitchen and breakfast room, and got things back to "normal". It was strange seeing the kitchen and breakfast room empty for awhile! I will share the kitchen soon too. I didn't have the hutch here yet this time last year so enjoyed doing that. I am really liking this look and don't think I will tire of it. I started on the top of the hutch with this large lantern. It has a battery operated candle on a timer so comes on by itself for a few hours at night. LOVE that feature! The bird is a stone like material and I added a green bottle/vase and a sprig of greens.
 These are candle sticks that I have had for many years. They are carved wood.
 I recently got this little wire cloche and placed this iron bird under it. I am looking for something to use as "seed" cause if I use real seed it will attract the varmits:):)
 A wicker wrapped bottle holds some faux flowers and ivy and a rope ball sits next to that.
 One of my demijohns and another cute bird. We have 3 bird feeders right outside the windows in here so I love seeing birds in here too! I might add a few other garden elements soon. You never know:)
 I had this little pail and placed a wicker ball in it.
 Bee skeps are another favorite.
 On the right side of the hutch top I have a larger demijohn filled with greens and sticks. And another bee skep.
 The square basket stays up here all the time. It had a wreath on it for Christmas.
 Isn't he cute?:)
 I brought this little bike planter from my office for the bottom of the hutch.
 I also put the bird and cloche on an iron stand. I added a turtle shell to this vignette too.
 Tada!!! There you have it. The house calms me after all the glitz and glam of Christmas is put away. Hope you are warmer than we are, wherever you are. We are getting some snow later today so I will be back to organizing some spaces and NOT going out! Have a beautiful week my friends!!! XO, Pinky
