Welcome, Summer!

It is not "officially" summer til next week but outside I am welcoming summer! The bushes are blooming, the flowers are blooming and I welcome you all! I made this wreath last year and still love it so didn't do a new one this year.

As you come up the driveway from the sidewalk, this is the view.
These bushes were trimmed back in half in the Spring and they grew like crazy. Now that they are blooming they look so pretty but will get cut back after they bloom.

As you come up the sidewalk to the front door you see this. As you can see I am loving orange and blues this year.
My tiny, little front "porch". I really miss they big front porch we had, but I make the most of this one.
 I do love my bunnies!

I had this blue and white bird house inside but this year decided to bring it out. I love it here, next to the blue and white pot of begonias.

I filled my lantern with blue and white faux flowers and the candle comes on each evening on a timer.
I got the plaid rug at Target this spring and just found this cute door mat at CVS of all places to layer.
The flowers in my big urn are doing great!
Orange impatiens, a fuchia, coleus and a potato vine fill the urn.

I lifted my fern off the hook to show you the BABIES!!! I think there are 3 but there could be another under there. I could NOT get the camera to focus but had to show you:)
 At dusk:

I thought I would share the details of the wreath.

Thanks so much for your visit. I am a busy bee now getting ready for vacation. Have a wonderful weekend.

New Pillows in the Master

I have been trying to continue the British Colonial look in the master and sitting room. When I found these fabulous palm pillows (at Kirklands) I grabbed them fast! Plus I had a coupon so got them for a great price! I really love them.
My bamboo lamps still look great and they are many years old.
I made this little vignette on the tray table at the foot of the bed.

I had the plain cream round pillow and the cream and gold pillow in my stash.
The edges of the palm fronds are tipped with gold.
I don't think I have ever shown you the ceiling fan. We added the light to it. The tray ceiling also is lit.
Here is the sitting area of the master.

I have had the accessories and artwork for years too. I have always been drawn to this style. The lamp was found in Fl. many years ago too.

Thanks so much for your visit. It has been raining so much it is hard to get any decent pictures. I will try to share some outside pictures soon!

A New Table with a Pop of Color

Since I had to take all the bird plates etc. off the dining table for our dinner group last weekend, I decided to do a new table in here. It's very basic with a pop of color. I love using black and white and then just add a pop of whatever color you like. For early Summer, I chose yellow! I am using my Napolean Bee flatware all summer. I love this pattern! I also have a love of any dishes with pretty edges.

The design on the corner of the place mat matches well with the design on the wine glasses. They were my Grandmothers so I treasure them.

I would love to find a taller black and white candle. But the design matches perfectly with the salad plates!
I gathered a black and white napkin with a solid yellow in a plain white ceramic ring.

I would never use a large centerpiece like this if we were eating at the table but this is just to greet our guests. I love to keep a table set here.
As you enter the house this room is right to the right.
At dusk I lit the candles and turned on the light.

 Such a pretty glow.

Thanks so much for your visit! I am still sick, in fact spent MOST of Tuesday in bed. Feeling a little better as I type this on Wed. Have a beautiful day everyone.
