~~~We Have FOOTINGS!!!~~~

 Some good news!! On Sat. when we went to the lots at the new house we saw that they had dug the hole. Tonight we went out and they have poured the footings!!! We are on our way! It was nice to see something good as there is MORE mess in our backyard today:( Our new next door neighbors came out and offered to take a picture of Joe and I. The next picture is from where the driveway will be.

 This is from the west side of the house. So Joe is at the back of the house.

 Here he is stabding where the sitting room off our master bedroom will be.

 This space will be the bar area in the basement and above that the morning room off the kitchen.

 I think he is at where the front door will be.

 That is the clubhouse that you can see between the 2 houses behind us. I love that it is close but not so close that any noise would disturb us.

 It is very exciting to start this new chapetr in our lives. Thanks for coming along on this journey with us.

~~~DISASTER in the Backyard!!!~~~

 I know this picture is not the picture of disaster, but I wanted to EASE gently into this. As you know, we have to have a whole new septic system installed to sell this house. The laws have changed since we built this house, 28 years ago. This is NOT something we want to do but we have to. So this beautiful, pink azalea is one of the bushes that has been sacrificed. This is how it looked this Spring. And this beautiful Japanese maple is still standing but wait til you see what has happened around it.

 This is a view looking down from the back deck towards the pond. The grassy area you see in this shot is GONE. You'll see that soon.

 This is the circle in the yard and the bush that is leaning Will be gone tomorrow. There is now a HUGE, mountain of dirt there as you will see.

THIS is the woods!!!!! They took 2 huge 100 foot trees down then CLEARED all the underbrush in the area for the drain field. There are 4 LARGE pipes here now.

 These are the pipes going from the house to the drian field.

 The drain field covered back up. I wonder how many years it will take for the woods to fill in again???? It hurts my heart.

 This is the HUGE digging machine that is sitting in the back yard right off the deck.

 This hole is probably 8 feet deep. Oh my Lord. It will hold the new tank.

 This almost caused REAL disaster! When they were digging here, they uncovered the 2 pipes that come out from the house from the geothermal heat pump and also the plumbing and septic. But when they uncovered them they knocked them backwards and BROKE one so water was pouring out. It LOOKED like it was coming from INSIDE the house but after alot of running around and fright, they discovered it was broken OUTSIDE and were able to fix it. Thank God, that would have meant ALOT of problems!!!! Too many to list here.

 This 20 foot rhodo had to be sacrificed too. It is the one right off the deck that is always COVERED in blooms. We MAY be able to salvage it and move it to another location.

 THIS huge pile of dirt is in the circle I showed you early in the post.

So, that is where we are today. Tomorrow they will be back to finish, then they will regarde, reseed, and Joe will try to make the yard presentable again. I feel so bad for him. He really has put his heart and soul into this yard for all these years. Well, we both have really.I hate to see him upset with this mess but I know he will make it as beautiful as possible for the new owners.

~~~Rearranging after T and D moved out~~~~

 Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you are able to KEEP COOL on this sweltering day!!!!!!!!!!!OMGoodness, this is CRAZY hot! And I realize most of the nation is in the same boat. I told my son I was going to come to Florida to COOL OFF!!!!!!!!!!!:):) So, Tracy and Dave, and the 2 dogs, moved out and into their NEW HOME this past Sat. I was there every day til they went back to work on Thurs.  So today, Joe and I "restaged" the rooms for selling. We do have a showing today at 5:45! Please keep your fingers (and toes) crossed:):) This is the room that T and D were in for 5 months. The bed was on the wall where the cedar chest is now and their dresser was where THIS small piece is. It is actually my server from the dining room!

 I put the bed back on the wall it originally was on. The "stager" did not want it on this wall but I have a good reason to have it here.

 This is my "office". This is staged with a double blow up mattress on a bedframe. The "nightstands" are actually the speakers fro the living room.

 We just borrowed this small dresser from our next door neighbors today. It is a much better fit for this room.

 This is the bathroom off my office. I must have moved, sorry this is a little blurry!

This is Joe's office. We are not staging it as a bedroom, cause that would give us 5 bedrooms and we would have to have an even BIGGER septic system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Here is the living room today. It is so nice to be able to walk right in, and not have to climb over gates:):) I have the blinds shut right now so the sun isn't heating up the room even more!

 I will be sure to open them for the showing.

 For those of you who have been here, we moved the elephants from next to the sofa to the 2 corners.

 It is nice, sitting on the sofa and being able to see them.

 The dining room is all set too.

 Looks BIG, doesn't it? I guess I DID have too much furniture in there:):) I do miss decorating, creating vignettes and doing tables, but so much is packed away. I did keep some dishes unpacked so I am going to do some tables for summer. Inside and outside, if it ever cools off enough to eat out there again!!!!
