Spring Around the Yard,2017

First I want to wish you all a very Happy and blessed Easter. I hope you have plans to be with family or friends. Today I decided to walk around the yard and take some shots. This was early afternoon. Then I went to get my nails done and then to the grocery and when I got home we had gotten mulched!!!! I was so happy, I went out and took new shots. I will show you a comparison of some places before and after. They only mulch the front, what they landscaped. Everything we did, we are responsible for. So we will get more mulch and do that ourselves. Starting at the front door, I now have real flowers in the bunny planters:) Last time I shared the porch I had faux flowers, as it was still too cold.
 Hyacinths in this guy,
 and pansies in this one.
I will be planting real flowers in the urn, hopefully soon!

Here is a pot of pansies before mulch,
 and after:)
 The rock garden before

 and after.

This small viburnum has one bloom so far:)
The hostas are just starting to come up.

Here I have a hyacinth coming up IN the lambs ear! When we planted the lambs ear, the hyacinth was gone so we didn't realize it was there:) This is in the area around the pond so not mulched yet.
 The phlox is spreading
This whole bed around the pond will be mulched soon.

The fish are awake and happy. I see some new babies too!

My color scheme this year is going to be lots of blues and whites. These pillows are perfect, I found them at Home Depot. The solid blue pillows are from Walmart, $5.00!!!!
This blue and white pot also from Home Depot.

Everything always looks so manicured after the bed are edged and mulched. I love it. Now when they mow, it will look even better!

This purple hyacinth will be moved to the rock garden, I think. Unless I get a match and have a pair for here.
The Lenten rose is still blooming.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
XO, Pinky

Easter Vignettes Around the House!

I haven't given you a complete tour of my Easter décor but thought I would just share some of the vignettes. I hope you enjoy! We are having summer like temps right now!!! I am LOVING it! We have been able to get outside, get the deck all cleaned up, Joe took the cover off the awning so we can use it again and we even added party lights! I am so happy to be able to go out and eat outside or just sit and read. There hasn't been much sitting though, we have been WORKING! But I am grateful for these beautiful days, as we are getting a good head start on getting beds ready for planting flowers!!!! We have cleaned up leaves and edged around beds and trees!  Ok, back to the vignettes! We will start right in the foyer.
By the front door is this bunny with some of my blue and white pieces.
A large, sparkly bunny is here to greet you! The green bunny is on the first step.
On the credenza are 2 silver bunnies and a glass bunny.
A pastel, ceramic bunny stands guard in front of the arrangement I made.
In the kitchen a faux chocolate bunny and faux chocolate eggs.
On the kitchen bar there is a bunny holding an Easter tree and 2 pieces that are a bunny pulling a chick.

On each side of the basket are bunnies on these wooden pedestals.

My large chocolate bunny and a real nest that I found last year are by the stove.
On the buffet area are my 2 script bunnies, and 2 lambs on each side of the platter.
A small bowl holds some pretty eggs.

In the breakfast room is my hutch that Joe made with a lot of bunnies!

Most of the bunnies will be put away soon and some I may part with. I am trying to decide:)

On the sofa table I put the 2 bunnies that my daughter gave me many years ago and a new silver bunny I got this year.
 Isn't he handsome!

2 textural bunnies are on the tiered stand by the chair.
My new, large bunny from Pier 1 sits on the hearth. I LOVE this bunny!
A bunny pillow on the sofa. You know I always have a touch of leopard in the room!
My sister sent me the 2 bunnies by the scale. The large bunny looks like cement, but is light as a feather:)
Thanks so much for your visit. Leave me a comment so I know you were here. And please Pin anything you might like to save!
XO, Pinky

Moving and Shaking Things up for Spring

When I decided to do a little refresh in the master for Spring, I decided to shake things up a bit. So, I moved some things, got rid of some things and just generally lightened things up for Spring. I like the results! Let's start here: I used to have a table here at the foot of the bed, that has been moved over to the sitting area as you will see further down.
I replaced it with this tray table that was a gift from my son.
I love the detail on it as I love anything with an Asian theme.

I am using my green pagoda shaped lantern, a lidded box, and a faux orchid in a pot.
I am still loving this bedding. The colors are ME!

I removed the runner on my dresser and replaced some things on my dresser.
the 2 green lions and the lady figurine are new to this space.

 Joe's dresser got the elephant.

This is how the sitting area looked for winter. I got rid of the greens and vase on the table. It was old and tired.

I replaced the pillows with these lighter green ones. The palm and monkey pillow is old but a favorite of mine.
I also totally redid the things on the end tables
I bent a hanger and am trying to make my ivy into a topiary. I also added another pagoda shaped lantern here.
This is the table that had been at the foot of the bed. I brought this lamp in from my office, moved one of the rattan candlesticks here and the monkey candlestick. They are topped with a green ring and a decorative moss ball.
I love this monkey candle holder so am keeping it.

So that's my Spring refresh in the master. When the weather gets nicer and the days get longer I always enjoy lightening things up.
Thanks for your visit, I really appreciate it!
XO, Pinky
