Decking the Halls....and Table!!!

Today I am sharing the very first seasonal table I have done this year. I found these adorable salad plates and just had to have them. I love them! I have been decking the halls and am ALMOST done! Once again I will be on our neighborhood house tour so have to have everything in ship shape:) I will start sharing my decor next week so thought I would show you this table. On Friday, Joe and I will celebrate our 50th (!!!!) anniversary! It is so hard to believe it is 50 years! We were just kids, literally when we said I do but we have had a wonderful ride TOGETHER! Ups and downs of course, as that is what life brings but we always face them together. He makes me laugh EVERY day so that is a very good thing. Sorry, now to the table.
I am using my favorite winter tablecloth as the base. A runner is at the back of the table to hold the centerpiece and some candles. A snowfkae placemat, red dinner plate and my salad plate.
I found this snowman flatware at CTS and did a happy dance! I just love it!  The snowmen and snow flakes are so cute! It is now our everyday flatware for winter!
These snowman glasses came from Dollar Tree last year.
And my red bubble glasses are another staple in the winter.
Snowball votive holders are surrounded by red berry candle rings.
My snowman is the star of the table.
He sits (well fell) onto an oblong greens piece that I embellished with some snowflakes and pine cones and snowy picks. This LED snowball is one of a set of 3 that I got on clearance last year. I have to change the batteries in the other 2.
 Isn't he cute?
 Snowman S and P.

Details of the runner, with snowflakes.

I gathered 2 snowflake napkins in 2 rings. A metal snowflake and a greens and berry ring!

Can you see the reflection of the tree in the window? I also caught the "blue hour"!!

We are enjoying this table and enjoying some comfort food at dinner. Joe makes wonderful chili and I will share the recipe if you would like it.
Thanks for your visit. We are going away Fri. and staying in the hotel where we went for our honeymoon. Then on Sat. we come back for Colleen's 5th birthday party!!! She is growing up way to fast for this Gigi:)

Yes, I am Decking the Halls!!!

Yes, I have started decorating! I wanted to get a very early start  so that I am able to ENJOY it all for awhile. The Christmas season is way too short for this girl:) I love this sweet, sparkly deer. I have a "thing" for deer.
This is an antique Santa. I have a large collection of Santas as I started collecting them over 30 years ago.
The snowmen have returned to the breakfast room. I think this may be the last year for them. I am TRYING to purge a little:)
I set a fun table for us too.
A faux boxwood ball in a blue and white pot and embellished for the season.
I love my Snowman lamp and the plaid shade.
Part of the hearth at night.
 LOVE my animal print ornaments.
I found these LED snowball lights at CTS last year.
The window sills in the breakfast room get embellished to hide the cords:)
Thanks so much for your visit. Have you started yet??? I used to wait til the day after Thanksgiving but I was killing myself trying to get it all done FAST! You all know I do A LOT!!!

The Reveal! The Dish Room!

I can not believe we have been here 5 years and I have not shared my "dish room"!!! I was so excited when we were building this house that I would have an area to use for storage of all things related to tables. I keep dishes, glasses, flatware, votives, napkin rings, etc., etc. here. I have it all in sections: Fall, Christmas, Easter, Spring, etc. So here we go. I took these picture back in the Spring and haven't shared this til now. When you open the door and look to the left this is what you see.
I even vacumed for you! We had pieces of carpet left over so Joe put this in here for me. It is wonderful to not have to be on the concrete.
This section is some of the Christmas section. I am purging this area as we speak:)
 More Christmas
Then next section is Fall. The doorway to the right is the area under the stairs so Joe put clothes rods in there for coats etc.
These book cases were in the old house so I kept them to use in here.
We bought these shelves at Lowes right after we moved in. All this was in boxes that were piled in here so I was anxious to get it all unpacked. This section is summer things and then we get to
 Spring/Easter
After that I grouped black and white, blue, and green dishes, glasses etc.
Up on the top  are extra things that by now I have gotten rid of some of it. I will share again after the holidays as I am packing things to give away. I was going to participate in our community garage sale this Fall but I was watching our granddaughter so that didn't happen. The things I am getting rid of will go to Goodwill.

I had several of these wire shelves and bought a few more.

So, that's my dish room. I WISH I had a LARGE pantry in the kitchen where I could just keep all the current season up there but.... So I go up and down the stairs and hope it keeps me in shape;):)
On another note, I have started decorating for Christmas! I know it is very early but I wanted to have a good head start and be able to enjoy it for awhile! I am anxious to start sharing it with you all!
Have a beautiful day and thanks so much for stopping by!

A Little Sparkle For Halloween!

I haven't done a Halloween table for this year as we are going to be very busy for Halloween. So, I thought I would share this one again. I hope you like it and have a very HAPPY Halloween!!!!!I bought this runner several months ago because it had the colors of Halloween without screaming Halloween. The silver dots on it are a little sparkly. So I am using a sparkly pumpkin on a stand for my centerpiece. The little wagon is filled with dried hydrangeas, twine pumpkins, and orange and black pumpkins.
The pumpkin S and P rode in on their own little cart!
The place setting consists of a black sparkly place mat, rust colored charger, white dinner plate, black dinner plate, and a fun salad plate. This one features a bat.
The pumpkin votive holders came with the LED tealights!
A Witch's shoe holds the flatware.
A striped and a polka dot pillar candle lights up the night for dinner.

In this shot you can see that I used a black napkin and an orange one, separated by the plates. My place has the black cat plate.
Since we are getting all the rain now it was very hard to get a decent shot so I apologize. This is our table through Halloween.  I hope you all have a fun weekend. We will be going to take Colleen trick or treating, my daughter and I will take her out and the men will stay home to give out the candy:)
