Brass and Blooms on the Coffee Table!

Good morning! I hope you all had a good weekend. We went to our dinner group on Sat. night and had a great time with such good friends. Last week I saw these beautiful cyclamen plants at the grocery store and HAD to have one. So, I redid the coffee table and brought out some of my brass. My friend, Johnnie Sue GAVE me a whole box of Baldwin brass candlesticks, sconces etc. when she moved and couldn't use them anymore. It was so very generous of her and I am so happy to have them and use them around the house! I got rid of most of my brass when it wasn't as popular but now it is having a come back. I placed my cyclamen in a lidded pot that I have had for many years.
This guy is one of a pair of them that I found at a wonderful gift shop on my way home from my sons house years ago. I am so glad I stopped there, as they are no longer in business.
The brass taper holder is one of the pieces from my friend.
I placed my blue LED candle on another gift from JS. Then I added the little wreath for some texture.
Here are a brass candle snuffer and snips. I had never seen the snips before.
The white orb adds a little more texture and contrast to the smoothness of the brass.
I also switched out the pillows on the sofa and brought back these favorite blue jar pillows. WHAT a lucky find they were!!!
Can you see how the design on the candle matches the design on the pillow in the background?
I didn't realize this til I put it all together.

Another friend gave me one of these plants when we first moved in here. It was in a tiny peat pot to take root. Today I have gotten 3 plants out of it and this is the 4th one starting. I just cut some pieces from the Mother plant and put them in the dirt and they become a new plant!
 Nighttime with the candles lit.

Thanks for stopping by. We only got about 2 inches of snow during the storm last week and it is all gone now. Yesterday it was 57 degrees when we left for dinner group! Crazy weather this year!
XO, Pinky

  5. I've always like brass, copper, pewter, and silver for accessories in our home. They add a nice texture and glow. Your coffee table vignette is lovely. I have the same blue and white lidded pot. I've had mine since the 1980s. Still enjoy having it as an accessory in our home.

    1. Hi Sarah, thanks for your visit! I have a copper collection in the kitchen too, and have SOME silver pieces. I got rid of all my silver pieces when I was younger and now wish I had them! Started collecting a few pieces here and there.
