Lightening the Table with Spring Touches

Even though there is still snow on the ground (we got another 2 inches overnight) I am LONGING for Spring so decided to lighten up the table with some Springtime touches. Birds and nests say Spring to me and also fresh herbs. In this case my herbs are depicted on my plates! So, I combined all those elements for a new table setting.I didn't do a huge stack of dishes. I started with a very plain tan tablecloth, then a rattan placemat that is trimmed in green. I am sticking with "Spring Green" as my color base for now. I am reposting this today because I have not had a chance to do a table, the tropical table is still set. SPRING is coming to the table net week so til then I thought I would reshare this table I did last year. And BTW, we got 9 inches of snow yesterday (Thurs.) Spring IS coming, I know it:):):)
 I used a square white plate with a brownish edge, then a square green plate, one of my herb plates and a footed bowl.
 All topped with a simple napkin in a white ceramic ring.

 I also decided to mix and match my flatware, "just because" as Pat would say:)
 I just received these adorable bird S and P as a gift. I LOVE, love them!!!!! Thanks, Denise!!!!!! They are in a wire basket that resembles a nest to me!
 And these are my wire nest votive holders. Great pairing.

 The candlesticks also have that brown edge rubbed look too.
 There are 8 different herb plates but I used the parsley and the dill plates today.
 The terrarium has also been restyled.
 I just found this bird at Kirklands yesterday when I spent the day with my daughter. LOVE those days.
 I added a clay pot on a stand with a nest on top. I love the added bit of burlap and the speckled eggs.

 The base of the terrarium is filled with green moss.
 The  distressed look of the birds, terrarium and S and P all look beautiful together.

 The white candles on the white holders are surrounded by a leafy green candlering.

 This little bird flew right over to the table from the hutch.

 Thanks so much for stopping by. I can't wait til the temps outside reflect the warth inside. So looking forward to opening up the house and breathing fresh air:) Til then I will improvise. XO, Pinky

~~~Turkeys at the Table and in the Dining Room!!!~~~
 I thought I'd better show you my turkeys since all this is getting packed away and Christmas is beginning! My daughter is having Thanksgiving so that is why I am getting an early start. Usually I don't start Christmas decorating til the Friday after Thanksgiving, but this year I am on a neighborhood house tour so wanted to get an early start! BUT, I also wanted to set a table for us til Thanksgiving and also show you the dining room. .I have this transitional runner that has pumpkins AND turkeys on it. Perfect for right now. I love the soft color of it too. I just used my Mr. Tom for my centerpiece, raised on a pedestal and surrounded by leaves and berries. Real squash and large acorns are scattered along the runner too. My ceramic pumpkins sit on the tiny pedestals from CTS.
  Just a simple place setting. The napkin really pulls out the green in the plate.
 I am using my brown bamboo flatware.
 Gorgeous, sunny morning greets us today.
 I love the beautiful detail on Mr. Tom
 Here are a few nighttime shots.
 And here is the dining room. It will chnge SOON, so I thought I'd better include it in this post. I kept my pumpkin topiary and used Mr. Tom along with it for the centerpiece.
 Brown pillar holders hold my leaf embossed candles and I used two candle rings: the greens and pumpkin ones too. It all sits on my leaf runner and the hutch is dressed with leaf plates.
 I love this topiary.
 I think he looks regal wherever he sits!
 2 sugared pumpkins complete the setting.
 I hope you all have a blessed Thanskgiving. We will, as our son is coming up from Florida so all of the (immediate) family will be together. That is a true blessing. I wish Joe's brother and sister and spouses could be here too.
