~~~Around the Garden in Fall~~~

I have been busy today putting Summer clothes away, getting the jeans and boots and tops out and cleaning and organizing the garage. While sweeping I noticed some flowers that are comig up from seed and blooming and LOTS of color all around the house. So, I thought I would share some Fall prettiness with you. Is that a word:):) So here we go. This is the front of the house today.

 These little guys are coming up from seed, we have pink ones and...

 pretty purple too. These are coming up UNDER this bush:)

 The new guinea impatiens are blooming again

 pink

 and red.

 The begonias are still blooming

and the roses too.

 Even the coleus are blooming. I am so loving this!!

 The bench that was here has been moved to the patio out back. But we have another bench, still at the old house that we now plan to bring over to use here.

 We also got a storm door several weeks ago. It is SO nice to be able to open the front door and have all the light come in the foyer. I also just today, got some more mums so I can redo the copper pot here at the front door.

 These are the HUGE sunflowers that I won as a doorprize at the Italian Feast at our clubhouse last Saturdsy night. It was SUCH a fun evening. I got tons of pictures and might share them if you would be interested????

 The sunflowers are as big as my (wrinkly) hand:):) I see my Mom's hand now.....

 Aren't they such a happy flower!?

 We also remulched all around the house about 2 weeks ago.

We have also airated and reseeded too. The lawn took a beating with all the construction going on out back! Hopefully next Spring it will come back nicely, we hope!

 This side of the house is so bright and colorful, all the zinnias are BIG and full of flowers!

 We have rose bushes all across the back here. You can see the deck being built in this picture. I am HAPPY to report that it is DONE!!! I will share all that very soon. We had a deck, patio and pond installed.

 You can see the silt fence in this shot; they are bulding a house next to us. I am not sure how I feel about that, I am hoping it doesn't mess up my views of the sunsets!

 So there's the tour. Hope you have enjoyed it. The weather is so nice right now, I am enjoying it. However next week we may be stuck in the 50's and that will be kinda COOL for me. But I won't complain, life is good. Thanks for your visit. XO, Pinky

Moving Things for Fall

I have been "nesting" all over the house lately. Fall just does that to me, I want to make the house warm, cozy and enveloping. I want to be able to relax and be comfy and warm. So, I am redoing some areas and moving things around! This is the hutch that Joe made for our breakfast room at the old house. I SOOOOO want to paint it but he is nixing that idea for now. So, it lives here in my "office" for the time being. All Summer this is how the top looked. This morning I decided to move some things. I get the bug sometimes and have to do this:) I removed these white pillar holders and the large shell.

 And I replaced them with 2 of my demijohns that I LOVE. Now I can see them all the time.

 I put the largest one down below because I didn't want to remove the branches I have in it.

 Can you see the 2 pieces of faux asparagus?

~~~A New GIFT!!!~~~

OMGoodness, I am so excited! The UPS man just rang the bell and we had no idea what he could be delivering since we hadn't ordered anything lately. I know, SHOCK!!!! But, we opened it up and  WHAT a BEAUTIFUL surprise!!! It is a housewarming gift from Joe's brother and SIL. A GORGEOUS pottery lantern from Pottery Barn! I am in love with it! I know I can use it all year round all over the house!! For now, this is where it will live.  I placed it on the tray on the coffee table in the living room. I love how the creamy color blends perfectly with the sofa. The openings allow me to see the candle and flame too.

 I put an orange pillar candle in it for Fall.

 I also love that it is pretty from all sides!

 The tray has leaves and pine cones embellished on it. Perfect for Fall!!!

A Mini Metamorphasis and NEW Pillows!!!

Hello my friends. This weekend I found some new goodies and I also received some new pillows that I have FALLen in love with!!!!! I found a very inexpensive garland at Christmas tree shops and had a garland at home that I wanted to embellish. This is the INEXPENSIVE berry garland, it was $6.99!

 I had this acorn and berry garland that I wanted to use too. SO, I just wound them together, fluffed them a bit and.....

 VOILA, a new, more substancial garland for on the curio cabinet!!!

 Now, I will tell you the secret of these pillows. My daughter has the same ones. I saw them when I went to dogsit at their place 2 wereks ago. I fell IN LOVE!!!! Love the colors, texture and pattern. So I asked her if she minded if I bought the same ones. She gave me the link and here is the BEST part!!!!!!!!!! Are ya ready? They were on sale for $8.99 each!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh honey, I did a happy dance and ordered them as fast as my fingers would fly!!! They arrived 4 days later. LOVE!!!

 At first I removed the blue and white pillows , but then decided I liked them with them too. Since I have so many blue and white pieces, it all blends.

 This is another example of how I like to mix thngs together. A blue berry candle ring is woven together with a berry and pumpkin ring.
