A Christmas/Winter vignette

Good Morning my friends! Are you almost ready for Thanksgiving? We hosted Thanksgiving for over 40 years but now our daughter has taken over. Also, Colleens birthday is Nov. 20 so always in Thanksgiving week. My son comes up from Fl. for her birthday and stays through Thanksgiving so..... I now decorate for Christmas before Nov. 20th! I am all finished! It feels so good especially because Thanksgiving is so late this year! It is only 1 month til Christmas! So, I thought I would share a little vignette I did in the breakfast room to start off my Christmas posts. Joe made 2 of these tables for me for our last house. I love having one here. I made a little grouping in a white tray and then another on one of my bread boards.
I placed a small snowman on my tiny green stool with a bed of snow. Then I added 2 more snow people and a twig deer.
I love this snow lady with her FUR!!!!

Some night time shots too.

I just may leave this here past Christmas for some winter decor too.

Thanks so much for your visit. Wishing you all a VERY happy, blessed Thanksgiving!
XO, Pinky

A Fall Welcome to my Home.

Good morning!!! I have been away last week with my GREAT girlfriends to the beach. This is our annual Fall beach trip that we have done for over 40 years now!!!! We were all former neighbors, raised our kids in the development and started this trip when the kids started school. Those kids are all now married and have kids of their own! Time sure flies.
But I took some shots of my front "porch", before I left to share with you but never got to it while I was away. So....WELCOME!!!!
Pumpkins, mums, impatiens, etc. all welcome you!

I FINALLY got my initial pumpkin at Kirklands this year. I have been wanting one for several years but they never had an "S" when I looked.
I layered a green and white checked rug with a new welcome mat I got this year.  I have the matching flag but didn't get pictures of the yard yet.
I decorated my lantern with berries, flowers and a big bow and added a candle ring inside.
The urn still has the orange begonia in it so I added the pumpkin picks, a small pumpkin and some fall leaves.

My Fall wreath stayed the same, just haven't had time to make a new one (although I did make 2 new ones for the doors at the clubhouse).

Thanks for your visit! I will be sharing all of my Fall decor now. I have been decorated for quite awhile but BUSY!!  Hope you all are having a great Fall and that the weather is finally cooling off some. I LOVE FALL!!!!!

2018 Fall Breakfast Room

Good morning! I have to mention that I am thinking of and praying for everyone in the Carolinas and the other states that are in harms way. WE actually are scheduled to drive to Charlotte on Friday for a wedding Sat.! Right now we are playing it by ear to see what happens. I feel SO bad for the bride and groom to be. GO AWAY FLORENCE!!!
OK, now back to the post. I always start decorating for any season in my breakfast room/morning room. Fall is my favorite time to decorate here. The colors of Fall are my FAVORITE! I have a pretty big collection of Fall decor so try to move things around each year and do something different.
As you know, Joe made me this hutch when we lived in the last house.
I love to decorate it for each season. This year the colors were chosen and inspired by.....

The beautiful plaid chargers on the top shelf!
I switched out the large white lantern on top for this black one. It has a timer so comes on each evening.
I twisted 2 garlands together to drape over the side of the hutch. Then I added 2 brown, pottery pumpkins, a faux cabbage and some smaller pumpkins.

Joe gave me this gorgeous soup tureen several years ago, so we added it to the hutch this year. We eat a lot of soup in the Fall and Winter so it will be handy to have it right here. The leaf sticking out is the ladle. I should have gotten some shots of it and the writing inside. It says, "Give thanks for family and friends".
I made this arrangement years ago and love how the greens and oranges in the pumpkin and arrangement match the chargers.
This pear is made of slices of wood and adds a beautiful organic touch. My cute squirrel sits next to it.
I decorate the 2 shelves by the windows too. I filled the candle hurricane with lots of Fall pretties.
The wheel barrel is also filled with faux pumpkins and fall picks.
I am glad I took pictures last week when I did this as it has been raining and COOL since Friday!

On the other shelf is the lamp that always lives here and a large green bottle filled with some Fall stems.

This tureen came in orange but  think the creammy color is SO pretty!
Love these chargers and found them at Pier 1. May go back to get some more!
I have also had these 2 pieces of art for years!

Thanks so much for your visit. I truly appreciate it and try to answer every comment here.

Spring Welcome!

Even though the calendar says it is Spring, Mother Nature has not gotten the memo:( BUT, I welcome Spring inside and outside. I was waiting for something to share this welcome with you and finally got it yesterday! I made this wreath 2 years ago. I am still liking it but am making a new wreath for Spring/Summer that is not too "eastery".

On my little front "porch" I have this little bunny planter and filled it with faux flowers as I haven't found peonies yet!
This little guy is nestled by the column.
My bunny flag will stay here for awhile too.

I filled my lantern with Easter grass, pretty eggs, (I cut apart a garland), a plate and some carrots and a bow.
Not sure why this next picture got placed like this....
I filled my pot with some faux flowers for now.

The green and white plaid rug is my new purchase! I LOVE it! Got it at Target online.  I like layering rugs here by the door! It was just rolled out so isn't flat yet but I wanted to share it with you.
