Happy Holidays everyone!!! I wanted to share my daughter and son-in-laws house that I helped them decorate 3 weerks ago. We got right to it the Sat. after Thanksgiving. They needed it done because they both work full time and they were having a big party LAST NIGHT!!!! So, sit back, I have included a few pictures from the party too:) Tracy chose a copper and gold theme for her tree. This is their first Christmas in their brand new home! This is our old 10 foot tree. It is very old, you can see that it is the type where you have to put each branch on seperatly and then string all the lights. I YI YI!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEXT year they are getting a prelit tree that comes in 3 pieces like we now have. This is WAY too much work. So, we put all the branches in piles according to size to start. Also, please click on the pictures that got cut off on the right side. Especially the last 2 pictures:):)
We started at the top, because if you put the bottom branches on first you can't get the ladder close to the tree.
Here we are with the lights on.
And then all the ornaments. We thought we had plenty but we need to get some sparkly gold branches to fill in some spots.
She has 2 of these over sized ornaments from Kirklands. Just beautiful. For this type of tree we wound the lights from the tip back to the trunk then back out to the next branch. That puts the lights all through the tree.
I found these pretty gilded pine cones that were perfect too.
The tree is in the corner to the side of the mantle. The ceilings in here are about 16 feet high!!!
I had these trees for several years but knew they would fit into her color scheme so well.
Here is the dining room. They just got this new table and chairs and will get the hutch soon. But this hutch matches beautifully til they can get the new one. She filled her apothacary jar with brown, gold, copper and green ornaments. The 2 deer candle holders were mine. I am SO glad to be able to give them the decorations I can no longer use.
These topiaries were her brothers. I would LOVE to have them but don't have the space so she got them and they look awesome flanking their front door!!!!
The base is a beautiful deer head!!!!
Aren't they lovely!!??
I also did their stairway and it took 54 feet of garland!!!! I made double bows from gold and copper ribbons.
Sorry these came out blurry!
Here are some shots from the party last night. They had tons of food and a really nice crowd of friends. She borrowed all my serving pieces. It is so nice that we can SHARE!!!!!
These cucumber sandwiches are a favorite. All you do is mix an 8 ou. block of cream cheese with a packet of Good Seasons Italian salad dressing mix! Spread it on Pepperidge Farm VERY THIN bread and put a slice of cucumber on top! That's it and they get devoured:)
The dining room table was filled with food as well as the kitchen island. In the large electric fry pan was roast beef for sandwiches.
Tracy made these pumpkin squares that were very good too. To the right are those lebanon bologna triangles that I told you about in my last post. They went fast too:)
These are our very best friends and Tracy.
And someone volunteered to let me jump in too. It was a great party and everyone had a great time!!! Have a GREAT week everyone. I am going to try to get my shopping DONE and wrapped. I went out today and it was a zoo out there but I had fun! I love to buy things for others that I hope will make them happy. XO, Pinky

ReplyDeleteHi Pinky! Oh, you're a wonderful mother and the decorating looks so pretty! I know your daughter and SIL loves it. Now that looks like some tasty wonderful food.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
shelia ;)
Tracy & Dave's home is really beautiful and I love all of their colors. All the Christmas decorations look just beautiful and I love the colors she chose.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty Pinky. Your daughter's home is lovely. She is so lucky to have you. The party looks so festive with plenty of yummy food.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Pinky! Your daughter is so lucky to have you decorate her tree and do her stairway garland! I know she was thrilled with the results and how fun you can share serving pieces! I ADORE the topiaries flanking her door!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so pretty and the the party looks like such fun. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeletePinky, you are quite the woman -- decorating your home and helping others get ready too. This is the first year I put up our tree, without my husband's help. I procrastinated putting it up, but one day my son said he was sick of it sitting in the middle of the floor (been there for 4 days), and we put it up and all the lights worked! The trees and all the trimmings look great. Joni
ReplyDeletePinky,
ReplyDeleteWoW!!! Tracy and you did a marvelous job of preparing her home for the party and Christmas!!! Like Tracy, many of my Christmas decorations were given to me by my MoMa...there are precious!!! The fanfare of food looks delicious!!! What gorgeous ladies ( and gracious) the two of you are!!!
Fondly,
Pat
I love the garland and bows on the stair rail! Everything looks beautiful!

You are super woman...you have finished your home and also decorate many others gorgeously!!!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter and S-I-L must be over the top happy!!!
What a beautiful tree! I also loved the arrangement next to the front door. Looks like everything turned out perfect.
ReplyDeleteThat tree goes together exactly like my old one I just sold last year. It was made very well and hardly looked it's age. It must be the same brand!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful and you guys decorated it so nicely! All the decorating you did is wonderful! Love the ribbons at the end of the banister. That deer head topiary piece is awesome! That would look great outside on a porch too! Wish I had a front entry for something like that!!
Great party and lucky daughter to have such a talented Mom. I really enjoyed your post. Thanks for sharing.

Pinky, you are amazing to help with this huge project! I can't even imagine putting that tree together. What work. It turned out so beautifully and it is such a fully tree. Your bows on the staircase are just gorgeous too. What fun party food. Everything was stunning and I am sure they loved all of your generous help!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great! I love those topiaries. I remember growing up we had a tree with the individual branches. I'm sooo glad someone figured out a better way!
