~~~Our Neighborhood Progressive Dinner Table and Food!!!~~~
 Hello!!! This past Saturday night we participated in our neighborhood Progressive Dinner! It was alot of fun! We hosted one of the appetizer courses here. I confessed to Yvonne, today while we were shopping and having lunch that I shamelssly copied her idea of the white cherry blossoms for my table. It is such a beautiful and dramatic look and so simple to do.  I started with a white cut out tablecloth that I just LOVE and then used my green, white and brown Spring runner for the centerpiece. I added nests, birds etc. The square willow chareger/trays are another organic element for the table. I love LOTS of textures! My faux terrarium is in the center of the table.
 My Napolean Bee silverware was a must for this table too.
 These little bird topped cloches were found several years ago and I placed them down into a nest that sits in a glass bowl for stability.
 This was the only shot I remembered to get of Joe making the wam shrimp in a slaw that was delicious! I will share the recipe soon.
 I also made individual taco dips. I used plastic cups for easy (and quick) clean up since we had to leave to go to the next house:)
 Cucumber sandwiches are always a hit too.
 Paper plates, again for ease of clean up:)
 The bar. We also offered a drink that Joe created called a "Peachy Pink Martini" in my honor. My maiden name was Martini, so I was Pinky Martini til I got married. The drink was a big hit too, even the men liked it:)
 This is the shrimp in the warm slaw.
We had such a nice evening. Everyone who came to our house hadn't seen it yet and they all seemed to love it. This neighborhood is very unique in that there have been 3 phases and 3 different builders so there are MANY styles of homes in here. I like that alot. It does NOT look like a "cookie cutter" development at all. I hope you have enjoyed this little tour. I will share more Spring "feathering of our nest" soon. XO, Pinky
~~~Feathering Our Nest, Morning Room Table~~~

Good Saturday afternoon. I don't know where the morning went!!! Yesterday I was having some friends over so I spent the night before and the moring yesterday SPIT SHINING the house. The kitchen and Morning room are now dressed in their finest Spring decor:):) I wanted to share some of that with you. Here we go: This is the fabulous faux terrarium that I found at TJMaxx a few months ago and had it filled with bunnies for Easter. Now that I am "feathering our nest", I have brought out the BIRDS, nests, pots, and birdhouses. The air plants that are perched on the top are from Robin of All Things Heart and Home blog. She is the SWEETEST, most generous friend!
 I placed this birdhouse inside and on a little stand to bring it up some.
 This large bird used to live on my windowsill at the other house.
  The whole terrarium is lined with some moss for now.

 I love the 2 topiaries, and on each side of them are these cute wire cages that I found last year. They sit in a nest with a bird who is watching over her eggs. See the little bird on top too?

 A close up of the runner. I have 2 of these runners. I love the colors and design.
 The S and P are watering cans.
 I used a green striped placemat, my square wicker handled chargers, a detailed white plate and my pretty printed salad plates all topped with a twiggy wreath (that I also use as napkin rings) and a bird!

 The white marbled flatware is our everyday flatware for this season.
 I paired it with a printed green napkin. I like all the different hues of green on the table. It reminds me of everything outside that is greening up right now!

So, this will be our table for the coming season. It is simple but so pretty to me. I will share the rest of the kitchen soon. Have a GREAT weekend everyone. We have a day OFF today and are then going to our daughter and SIL's for dinner! XO, Pinky

~~~I'm Still here!!!~~~
Hi my friends! I just wanted you to know that I am still here but every day we have been busy at the old house getting it ready to go BACK on the market. I am sorry to be MIA, but I promise I will be back soon with some pretty posts. For now, here are some pictures of our yard last year at the old house. SPRING!!!! A time of hope and new life!!! This first picture is on side of the yard, the view from my kitchen sink.
 This is the front yard.
 The garage wall
 The side you saw in the first picture
 ajuga, a ground cover that blooms. After it blooms, we then would mow it.
Thanks so much for your visit. Our yard was a labor of love for Joe and I. We worked on it for many years and thoroughly enjoyed it. It just got to be too much work, but it provided us with SO much beauty and serenity!!!! We will be working on this new yard soon and hope to make it an oasis also. Please keep your fingers crossed for a quick sale for us. XOXO, Pinky
~~~Another Spring/Summer Wreath and Tutorial!!!~~~

Hello my sweet friends!!! My best friend, Wenda, asked me to make her a new wreath for her front door. Wenda and I have been friends for 45 years!!!!!!!!!!!! AND, we share a birthday! Isn't that something!!??? She has been such a HUGE part of my life, I don't know what I would do without her. In fact today she hosted a breakfast for some of our friends who have spent winter in Florida, a welcome home breakfast. So I wanted to have her wreath ready for her to take today. This first picture is last night, hanging on my back door in the morning room. As you can see, I started with a grapevine wreath.
 The first thing I did was make the bow and attach that.
 In order to "curl" your ribbon, just twist it around you 2 fingers, then pull on it to make a "curl". You will need wired ribbon to do this.
I know....I need to have a PRETTIER place to do these tutorials!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 I added a nest and greens pick under the bow then some green and cream hydrangeas.
 Next, I cut apart an impatiens bush and added the flowers.
 next is some variegated ivy
 then a bunch of pink poppies.
 I then added these pretty white filler flowers

 finally, some green berries around the edges.

 Here it is on Wenda's front door. She really liked it, thank goodness:):)

Thanks for your visit. I hope you all have a FABULOUS weekend!!! Joe and I are busy painting at the old house. We should be done with that after tomorrow. XO, Pinky
