Oh, Christmas Tree!!!

Since we moved into this house 3 years ago, I have not liked the tree in the morning room. But I thought it was the only spot this tree would fit. I was all set to buy a new, smaller tree. But then Joe said, "let's TRY it over in this new spot". It fits!!!! Now I had to totally remove the topper and redo it but I like the new look even better. Change is good!!! Now we don't have to move the rug in the morning room, move the table etc. Plus, you can now see it from the front door. SO much better. This year I am WILD about Christmas!!!!! It all started with a new dining room rug, which I will share soon. Plus, last year I decided I was going to wrap my gifts in red paper with leopard ribbon. SO, I carried that idea to the tree, the stairway railing, the garland over the hutch, etc. I will be sharing it all.

My tree is all red and gold. I have collected the ornaments from all over.
This year the animal print ornaments are new and I found them at Kirklands.
If they still have them I am going to get more, I LOVE them!
MANY of my ornaments have come from the dollar store, YUP, you read that right.
I love this one, it is encrusted with beautiful gold flecks.
My tree has HUNDREDS of ornaments on it:) I tuck big ones into the tree for dimension and to fill in "holes".
The red one behind the gold starburst is velvet with beads on it.
 A gold tree.

This is the back of the tree, what you see if you come in the back door:)
The poinstetta ornaments came from Lowes  2 years ago!

Joe gave me this last year, I hope I can do one for many years to come with my sweetheart:)
TA DA!!!! Here it is in all it's glory:) I only had to bend down the very top branch! Then just lower the topper and we are in business!!!
 The view from the kitchen
My clay manger sits below the tree. Joe made the crèche for me, and based the design on the one he grew up with.
This is, after all, the reason for the season, right?

I wish you all a VERY Merry Christmas season and happy decorating. I will be sharing all my rooms in the days and weeks to come so please, stay tuned! I also want to say I am praying for the victims and families of the shooting in California. Another terrible tragedy that makes NO sense to me.
XO, Pinky
I am adding some daytime shots since the sun finally came back out:)

  7. Hi Pinky - your tree is stunning, love the leopard! I also think placing the nativity in front of the tree is such a great idea. We all need to remember the reason for the season, especially this year with all the turmoil in the world. Jane

  12. Your tree is absolutely gorgeous, Pinky! I just love completely filling a tree with ornaments, from the inside out. I couldn't do our big tree this year, but had fun doing several small ones. Your little granddaughter must be mesmerized by all the twinklies an sparklies!

    Warm hugs,
