Organizing Your Kitchen, a look inside my cabinets!!

We have been here in this house for almost 2 years!!! Can you believe it??? It will be 2 years on Oct. 1st! The kitchen got organized when we moved in but now we have made some SIGNIFICANT changes to make it totally functional. THIS is the kitchen I always dreamed of!!!! Plenty of caninets and drawers and EVERYTHING organized!!! It is kitchen HEAVEN!!!  I have 2 TINY pantries but have organized them the best way I can think of. I had these turntables at the old house and they make finding everything SO easy!!! You can tell I have had them for YEARS as they don't make the "harvest gold" anymore:):)

The 2 trash cans hold Trash and recycleables.
We also installed these racks on the pantry doors.
I have a knife block IN one of the drawers next to the stove. It also holds extra utensils.
The cabinet under the stove holds pots and Joe installed these racks that make it SO functional!!!
The pots are on the bottom and the lids are above them. Perfect!!!

Next to that is a pull out with glass baking dishes and my colanders.
My spices are in the corner cabinet, on turntables, and arranged alphabetically THAT makes it EASY to find whatever you are looking for. It is worth the time to arrange them this way!!!

I don't drink coffee but Joe does so we have a Keurig and Joe has the coffees and mugs together in this cabinet.
This cabinet holds all my bowls. Mixing bowls and glass bowls that are used for mixing and storage. The lids are stored beside the bowls.
This cabinet stores our everyday dishes and bowls. The dishes usually change seasonally but I usually have a set of white dishes in here year round.
We have this WONDERFUL corner cabinet. In the old house I DREAMED of a cabinet like this. It houses all my baking things.

Here is the cabinet with my storage pieces.  Also on the right there are 2 plastic bowls that I use outside on the deck for serving. I was THRILLED when I foubnd out that every bottom cabinet came with a pull out shelf!
The bottom cabinet houses this turntable with storage containers and liids.

I have put all white dishes in the glass front cabinets. I love the look!!!

This is the other pantry with the wire shelving on the door.
This pantry houses seasonal things: some dishes, napkin rings, candles etc., etc.
Alomg with some food items, my vitamins, crackers etc.

I have 2 LARGE drawers that hold my cutlery, some utensils etc.

This drawer is my junk drawer: every kitchen has one, Right???
This drawer holds plastic bags and wraps.
Below that drawer are my dish towels and OV GLOVES.
The bottom drawer is kinda miscellaneous stuff. Right now the extra set of hummingbird feeders are in there along with a duster and some other things.
 Cutting boards and cookie sheets
Trash bags and my Miracle Grow fertilizer for watering my plants.
Underneath are extra cutting boards (decorative) and melamine dishes for outside.

I hope you have gotten some ideas for YOUR kitchen. Having everything organized and within reach makes life SO much easier!! I finally have the kitchen I have always wanted!!!! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will leave me a comment and I can can get back to you. I am partying here:

The Big Reveal: The New Bar!!!

On Thursday the glass shelves were installed and the bar is officially open! We had 4 couples over Friday night for a MINI opening, we plan to have a large gathering soon. This is Joe's baby; he did the design, the planning, chose the cabinets, counter, floor, installed the cabinets and did all the electric and plumbing too, installed the floor. Now this room is perfect for entertaining, a big or small crowd! The picture below is the view as you come down the stairs.
I love the barstools, the backs have a combination of tiles. Each one is a little different.
See that lantern on the right? There is a story to these lanterns. Joe's Dad was a pilot, and when he flew to Germany there was a favorite pub he frequented. He got to know the owners and when they were going to remodel he GOT THE LANTERNS!!!!!!!!!! They were at Joe's parents home for many years and now we have 2 of them. My Joe cleaned them up, repainted them and replaced the glass. You can't tell from the glare but the glass is a golden hue that matches the pool light and hanging pights in the bar.

The mirrors really open up the space!
My one contribution to the bar is my LEOPARD shoe wine bottle holder:):) It was a house warming gift from a dear friend. The pitcher was a Home Goods find.
That large ashtray now holds nuts when we entertain. It, too, came from Germany. It is so wonderful to have these family treasures. The fridge is at the end of this bank of cabinets.
Joe chose a copper sink, it is fabulous and beautiful. Nice and deep. We also have a bar fridge, dishwasher and ice maker! No need to carry dishes, silverware etc. up and down the steps now! The dishwasher is to the left of the sink...
and that is the ice maker to the right.

I found these cute towels, perfect!

It is so nice to have the glass fronted cabinets, we can see the glasses but they don't get all dusty.
 wine and cosma glasses:)
 These are all beer glasses.
This is Joe's Dad. I LOOOOOVE this picture!!! Joe has a collection of these Bousson heads so he put the Aviator above his Dad's picture. I miss him so much, he was the dad I never had. Mine died when I was 4.
This is one of the paintings MY dad did. He was an artist. My maiden name was Martini, so he did his and my Mom's hands holding Martini glasses.
He did not sign alot of his works so this one is priceless to me.

I thought I would show you the rest of the room too. We have 2 smaller sized sofas.
The lamps are all from India, from Pops travels. We replaced the shades with these many years ago.
The entertainment center is versatile: all the boxes can be moved and rearranged for different displays. They do get moved at Christmas! The 2 lanterns on the speakers are ones that Joe made. He has collected lanterns for many years, before they were the THING!:)
I brought this down for our guests on Friday night, to have a little touch of fall in the room.
 going around the room..
the metal bakers rack used to be in  the foyer at the old house. The little table besdie the rocker was made for us by Joe's brother, Dale. The rocker came from Lancaster county, made by the Amish.
Joe just got the poster of "The Rat Pack" and he framed it himslf. He is waiting on another poster of Cassius Clay (as he was known back then) standing over Sonny Liston.
This is the powder room...It's a JUNGLE in there:):) Sorry, couldn't resist:) I found the black pumpkin at Walmart.

These 2 prints were found many years ago at a store called Woolworths, do any of you remember that? I frmaed them with standard frames.

So, there you have it. We love the new space and plan to do alot of entertaining down here! I have to get started pretty soon decorating it for CHRISTMAS!!! We are one of 4 houses on our First Annual Christmas Tour of Homes in the development!!!! Should be fun!!!!
