I made a few changes in the guest room over the last couple of weeks. I thought I would share them with you all. The windows in this room face west so the sun shines in here all afternoon. It is so light and bright and makes my heart happy. The blues and white also make my heart happy!!!
I added the bird cage and nest to the trunk/basket. Can you see the large, wooden bird in the cage?
I got the new patterned pillows this year.
I also got some new lamps but am saving them til we paint in here. I like the contrast of these darker lamps against the white walls but when we paint, I have pretty, cream colored lamps for on the nightstands. I also got some birds at Kirklands for the nightstands.
The top of the dresser stays pretty much the same, except at Christmas.
This is a VERY old hope chest under that quilt. I have been thinking of uncovering it and showing off all the scratches and dents and CHARACTER. It was my Grandmothers so you know it is OLD!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL! My blue and white elephants were a gift from my son many years ago.
I have had these pottery pockets for years and years. I filled them with some blue and white flowers.
A few houseplants live up here too. The rest are outside for the summer.

I have had this hydrangea garland for many years too. I remembered that I had it and decided to add it to my tobacco basket. Remember, I added a fall garland here last fall.

I like to make my guests fell WELCOMED so stock the room and drawers with items them might have forgotten. Do you do that too, in your guest rooms?
