2 Pre Fall Vignettes.

Good morning. I will admit, I have been working on my Fall decorating all week, slowly but surely. I will start to share all of it next week. So, in the mean time I thought I would show you what I did when I took all the shells away and summer decor. So here are the credenza and the coffee table, before I did Fall! Simple but all pieces I like a lot.

 The large jar was found at Home Goods years ago but remains a favorite. The rock was found in Fl. when we were visiting friends several years ago. The palm tree lamp has always been a favorite. It stays here all the time.

 Joe bought me this blue orchid a few weeks ago. I LOVE it!  So, I built the vignette around it.

 Aren't those flowers beautiful!!

 This guy is another piece that I love.

 A Faux fern in a blue and white pot, and an Led candle on a blue and white dish completes the vignette. The candle is on a timer so comes on each evening.

Thanks for stopping by! We will have Colleen all weekend, and she starts gymnastics at a new gym on Sat. morning! She started Kindergarten on Tuesday. My sweet girl is growing up way to fat for this Gigi!

TUESDAYS AT OUR HOME

~~~Collected Over Time~~~

That is what our home is now. Things that we love and have collected over time. I thought I would share the living room. Our homes are our sactuaries, the place where we are comfortable and where we show our love to our family and friends. I know many of you have seen the living room  before. I will tell you about some of the pieces. This is the living room as you come in from the foyer. When we moved in, I knew I wanted to do the matchstick blinds on the windows. I then asked Joe to make me the valances and make then so I could display things on them. The lamps are from India and are carved elephants. They used to have other shades but we got these rattan ones many years ago.

 This is a beautiful chair, that FITS me. I can sit in it comfortably. It was  my sons, and he gave it to me when he moved to Florida. It has beautiful, silk upholstery. I placed the 2 tiered rack next to it with 2 Asian pottery pices.

 On the other side is a carved table from India that was my in-laws with a blue and white planter holding ivy. The pot on the stand I bought at Epcot 24 years ago....the year my Mom died.

The curio cabinet was purchased about 29 years ago. It holds blue and white pieces and Hummels. The tree was made by my brother-in-law.

 This sofa is also 29 years old!!! My Mom bought it for us when she came to live with us. I needed a sectional in the old house as that is the only thing that would look right in that space, and I found this PERFECT one! It is amazing that it fits right in here too!!! Of course all my blue and white pieces have been collected over time as well. The screen was my in-laws as well. We have inherited so many beautiful things for which I am SOOOO grateful!

 The elephants, one of my prized possesions were also my in-laws. My FIL was a pilot and got them in Vietnam. I ADORE them. UH OH!!! I just realized that there are paint swatchwes on the wall!!! We are about to paint, FINALLY, and are choosing colors:)

 Recently I came across this needlepoint that someone made for my parents when they got married. I realized I have a few boxes that new got unpacked!!!!So, I decided to hang it here in the living room.

 I found the bamboo ladder many years ago too. It hung in the stairwell at the old house. Now I have a great spot for it here! The Asian guy is a fairly new purchase, (again, Home Goods) and the 2 vases were purchased several years ago. The LARGE blue and white jar was also a gift from our son.

 This is a favorite jar that I got at Home Goods many years ago. I am also giving you a sneak peek at the mantle. I will share that next.

~~~A New Welcome~~~

We are in that time between Christmas and Spring. I get a little antsy to change things, decor wise, so start moving things around, it is the domino effect:) Here is what is on the credenza now. I love this lamp, found it years ago at a little shop at the beach!

 This is the vase that was on the winter mantle. I redid what is in it. The candle holder mimics the leaves on the vase.

 This is a miniature tsonso chest. I have 2 saki bottles on it and that is a candle holder in front.

 Just some greens and sticks in the vase.

 Another of my pottery switch covers here. It is a weird coincidence that we had a 4 button switch in the old house in the foyer and the same thing here!

~~~Continuing the Tour, The Foyer~~~~

HI everyone! I know you all have seen the foyer decorated for Christmas, but I don't think I have ever shown you what it looks like the rest of the year! I display more Asian pieces here too. I have 2 of these plant shelves that I use for display here. I got them YEARS ago because they were the perfect size! They have tile shelves so are easily wiped clean.

 This guy is one of my favorites. I found him at Home Goods several years ago and had to have him.

I love this jar too, anopther Home Goods purchase. I REALLY think they should pay me for advertising:):):)

This is a saki jar. The little green pot on the stand was a gift from a cousin who lives in California. She found it while out hiking and it is very old.

This is the other side of the foyer.

The jar on the left is made of pottery and the design is cut out.

I turned on the flash because I thought the last picture might turn out too dark.

The jar on the right of this shelf was purchsed many years ago at Epcot in Disney from the Japanese pavillion. On the left is another saki jar.

Another very large pottery jar is on the right and the one on the left is made of carved wood.

This is the bakers rack that you see when you walk in the front door. I bought this rack from a friend when she was moving and couldn't take it. I had always loved it. It is all metal and the 2 top shelves are glass and the middle one is wood. I love the doors on it.

The lady on the left was a gift from Joe one year. She came from the gift shop at Longwood Gardens.

There are 2 of these guys. I forget what they are called. They are some kind of soldiers in Japan.

I have always loved this tea pot too. The bamboo detail and basketweave pattern is so pretty, to me.

This is a TINY piece but very detailed.
