A Plaid Winter Guest Room!

Since the guest room is decorated this year, just as last year, I decided to repost this. I love, love the plaid. It is still a great look. I remember when I showed Colleen the room as I recount here in the post.  So, here is where the post started last year:This year I added a lot more plaid to the guest room. A few weeks ago, our little Colleen came over and I told her to come with me, I had a surprise for her. I told her I made her her own special room!!! Well, she loved it and right away said, Oh Gigi, come lay down with me on this bed":):) So we did and then she explored: the dog, reindeer, Santas etc. I hope you all like it too! I decided to place this wreath here. I had the plaid ribbon and the bird with the plaid hat so made a wreath for the guest room to REALLY welcome guests!

This picture was the original inspiration for winter in the guest room. Last year I focused on snowflakes and birds and this year added plaid!

I LOVE this sled with tree that I found at TJMaxx last year. I pack it away very carefully so I'll have it for awhile.
A tall bird house is on the other night stand. Along with a snowy bird.
Colleen LOVES this dog. It is actually a doorstop and VERY heavy but she lugs it all over with her:):)
I found the new "Believe" pillow this year.
The Santas will be packed away soon but I will leave the rest til Spring. Isn't he pretty with his plaid coat?

Plaid ribbon is used for tiebacks on the curtains.

The top of this OLD dresser is filled with birds and plaid too.

I was going to fill the stocking with greens and berries but decided that was too much.
I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the lamp and just pinned it in place.
I made this tree several years ago and it is perfect for in here.

The snowflake pillow on the bed and this pillow came from the DOLLAR store for $6.00 each!

This little guy was a new find at Kirklands this year. I knoew Colleen would like him too!

Thanks so much for your visit. I wish many blessings to you all in 2016! I hope your holidays were just magical.
XO, Pinky

Plaid, Pinecones and Snowflakes at the Table

I set a new table for us. We may get a big snowfall this weekend so I made it cozy and comfy! I also wanted it colorful and fun. I gathered 2 napkins; a plaid and a white that is embossed with snowflakes, and gathered them with 2 rings, a grapevine and a berry and holly ring.
I stacked a clear glass charger, a BHG plate from Walmart, a snowflake salad plate also from Walmart several years ago and a pretty square bowl decorated with pinecones and berries. The square bowls say "holiday wishes" on the bottom and are made by 222 Fifth.
See the snowflakes on the napkins?
Mixing red and green flatware is unexpected but fun!
Green glass votive cups hold red candles and my red bubble goblets make another appearance.

At dinner we light the candles!

I gathered some elements in a favorite tray for my centerpiece; a hurricane is filled with faux snow and a red pillar, a snowman sits on a wood slice and a wire cage is filled with winter elements: snowballs, pinecones etc.

This little guy is handmade, bought at a craft fair years ago.
Another craft fair find and a vintage deer.
These votive holders remind me of a snowball.

Thanks so much for your visit. I so appreciate your support and sweet comments!

I Tip My (Top) Hat to You!!!

I set us a new table for the COLD winter weather we are getting. Winter has been slow to get here but it sure came with an artic blast of cold and wind! I do not enjoy the cold so am looking forward to it getting back up to the 40's or 50's:):) In the mean time, come on in and have a seat! My Frosty's top hat is sitting on a Frosty cake plate!
I placed a snowflake under it too.
Some snowmen moved from the hutch to the table for this setting. I got this guy at a craft fair many years ago.
 And this one too!
The tablecloth is a red background with white snowflakes and I am using my snowflake napkins.
The napkins are resting in my NEW (for Christmas) red bubble goblets! Thank you, Santa!
The top hat S and P came on this little stand too. I got them on clearance last year at Kirklands.
The snowflake dinner plate sits on a snowflake from the $ store. The snowman salad plates came from CTS years ago
 This is the snowflake
 and the other snowman plate.

My snowman pitcher holds juice in the morning or water at other meals.
I lit the snowflake votives just for you!

Some snowy pine trees are part of the centerpiece too.

I added the reindeer crossing sign and the shovel.
