Decorating my Best Friends House! Christmas Tour

This is year 9 that I have been decorating my best friends house! It is a labor of love, I would do anything for her. She and I got married 6 weeks apart, 47 years ago. We raised our kids together and have been through EVERYTHING together!!! Hope you like taking this little tour. Here is the tree! It is all burgundy, gold and cream.
 I had everything except the ornaments in my stash! The flowers, beaded grapes..

 gold edged leaves, creamy berries

 and sticks. She has very tall ceilings in here so I added the sticks for height and drama!

 We also do her staircase, and it is GRAND!

 Upstairs are 2 bedrooms (one of which is the office) a bathroom and a loft.

In the garland we have bows of burgundy and gold, flowers, beaded fruits
 and berries.
 the leaves are also used in here.

 Some of the flowers I sprayed with glitter paint to make them sparkle!
 Their village sits on this ledge that surrounds the living room on 2 sides. The village and mantle aren't lit cause they are on timers that come on at 4PM.
 I love, LOVE this Santa in his sleigh. She found him last year at Home Goods. She will be adding live poinsettias to this ledge.

 This is the mantle. The tree came from Home Goods too and the candle holders are new this year.
 I found the candle rings at the place where I worked just yesterday so brought them.

 These are the candle holders that are on the mantle usually. I just added gold bows.
 These gorgeous pillows came from Pier 1 a few years ago. Beautiful!

So that's what I did yesterday! Hope you enjoyed seeing this little tour. HAPPY holidays my friends!!!! XO, Pinky

Christmas in the Breakfast Room

When I start to do my Christmas decorating, I always start with the breakfast room and kitchen since I spend so much time in there. Having it all decorated (for EVERY season) always makes me happy! This year we have the hutch that Joe made in here and I had fun decorating it!!! As you can see I have all my snowmen in here. They can stay all winter! I use batts of cotton for the "snow".
 I made this arrangement on the sled, last year.
 I did my 2 shelving units too. They are actually plant stands that I have had for YEARS!!! The shelves are tiles.
 I sat a little snowman in the basket and hung snowman pictures in here too.

 Some details of the hutch.
 See Mrs. Snow lady with her FUR stole? She is so precious:)
 The tiny deer are made of sticks and were bought at a craft fair years ago.
 Almost all of my snowmen were purchased at craft fairs over the years. I LOVE hand made items. I then added things like the little shovel and "deer crossing" sign.
 The snowman lamp on the top shelf and the snowman lantern on the next shelf give off a soft glow at night.
 The snowman on the top in the middle is made from a fence post!
 And he has a red bird on his hat.

 The tree is also in here, it is the ONLY spot in the house that it will fit. I hope you saw my post yesterday, I shared the tree. Here is the link if you missed it: http://designsbypinky.blogspot.com/2014/12/the-tree-is-up.html

 Let's turn on the lights!

 I took this right after I finished decorating the tree, before we put the table back.
 Hope you have enjoyed this little tour. There is LOTS more to share so PLEASE check back each day. I am MOST grateful to my loyal followers, and love you all!!! XO, Pinky

~~~Decorating My Best Friends House~~~
 Good Saturday morning my friends! It has finally stopped raining around here but it is COOOLD! The sun is shining but it is 36 and dropping:( I am NOT a cold/winter person at all but I know that some of you have temps in the single digits so I won't complain:) I went and decorated my best friends house the other day so thought I would share it with you. She has a beautiful home. As you can see, she has tall celings in her living room so I gave the illusion of a higher tree with some red and gold sticks. We also used red poinsettias, white and cream berries, red and gold ornaments and some beautiful leaf stems for filler.
 Here are the leaf stems and some sugared grapes.
 We also do her stair railing and there is a LOT of railing! Large bows, sugared fruits and poinsettias here too.
 it goes up....
 and across the loft.
 She found these gorgeous beaded pillows at Pier One. I just love them.
 We aslo did her mantle, of course! The deer are waiting for some poinsettias to join them. We actually went out after we were done and got them.
 She found this gold tree at Home Goods a few years ago.
 We wrap her candlesticks with gold berry garland and they are topped with sparkly gold pillars.
 She also found this gold and silver ball garland at Home Goods.
 This pretty Santa sits on a small table and you get a glimpse into the sun room.
 I should have gotten a close up of the tree skirt, it is really pretty!
 I put this arrnagement together from things we had left over:)
 There is a ledge that goes down the hall from the front door and around to the kitchen, so that is decorated with their village. We also found a GORGEOUS sleigh with Santa for the other ledge while at HG. It is beautiful but I didn't get a picture of it.
 I love this piece in the sun room.
 His and her chairs in the sun room, facing a TV in the corner.
 She found these pillows that are PERFECT!!!
 I just took these shots to show her mirrored backsplash. I love, LOVE it.  That is why I wanted the mirroed backsplash down stairs in our bar. It really opens up the space.
 Can you see me:):)?
Hope you have enjoyed this little peak into this lovely house. Stay warm, my friends.
