The STAR of the Christmas Decorations

We got a new tree this year as the one we had was old and a section of lights was out.  I really like this new one and had fun decorating it. It was A LOT of work to fluff the whole thing but that's the drill when you have a brand new tree. I also like the tree in this spot as I can see it from the front door, the living room  the breakfast room and the kitchen.
This nativity that sits below the tree is made of clay and Joe made me the creche.
I love the combo of red and gold for the tree.
The sister ornament is, of course, from my sister and I placed it next to one of the ornaments that my Mom made many years ago.
I also LOVE my animal print ornaments. I found them at Pier 1 a few years ago and wish I had gotten more.

Some big, gold embellished ornaments are scattered around the tree too.

This is the view from the breakfast room. I love that we see the reflection of the lights at night while we are eating dinner.

This year I added a leopard throw on top of the red and gold tree skirt.
The bows at the top of red and gold and leopard!

The ornament on the right was purchased at Winterthur Museum several years ago. The ornament above it with the pearls is another one by my Mom.

This ornament was from Joe's sister the year his Mom died.
I wanted you to be able to see what is on it.
 Many ornaments hold treasured memories.
 Some night time shots.
 From the kitchen

The view as you come in the back door.

Thanks for your visit. I just LOVE the Christmas season and all that it brings. I just wish it lasted longer. I am looking forward to our neighborhood house tour. I am one of the 3 homes on the tour.
XO, Pinky

Decorating my Best Friends House! Christmas Tour

This is year 9 that I have been decorating my best friends house! It is a labor of love, I would do anything for her. She and I got married 6 weeks apart, 47 years ago. We raised our kids together and have been through EVERYTHING together!!! Hope you like taking this little tour. Here is the tree! It is all burgundy, gold and cream.
I had everything except the ornaments in my stash! The flowers, beaded grapes..

 gold edged leaves, creamy berries

and sticks. She has very tall ceilings in here so I added the sticks for height and drama!

We also do her staircase, and it is GRAND!

Upstairs are 2 bedrooms (one of which is the office) a bathroom and a loft.

In the garland we have bows of burgundy and gold, flowers, beaded fruits
 and berries.
the leaves are also used in here.

Some of the flowers I sprayed with glitter paint to make them sparkle!
Their village sits on this ledge that surrounds the living room on 2 sides. The village and mantle aren't lit cause they are on timers that come on at 4PM.
I love, LOVE this Santa in his sleigh. She found him last year at Home Goods. She will be adding live poinsettias to this ledge.

This is the mantle. The tree came from Home Goods too and the candle holders are new this year.
I found the candle rings at the place where I worked just yesterday so brought them.

These are the candle holders that are on the mantle usually. I just added gold bows.
These gorgeous pillows came from Pier 1 a few years ago. Beautiful!

So that's what I did yesterday! Hope you enjoyed seeing this little tour. HAPPY holidays my friends!!!! XO, Pinky
