New Bedding For Spring in the Master

Good morning! I just have to say our weather has finally broken and it is Spring, finally! In fact, this week we are going to approach 90!!! Crazy weather! But I am not going to complain. I finally was able to go get some flowers yesterday and will get more today! Now, I purchased this bedding last year but never got it on the bed. I finally did it about a month ago. I am really liking it for Spring. The soft colors are calming and restful to me.

I love the combination of pillows that came with the set.

 On Joe's nightstand I placed an arrangement  that I made on a rock, onto a small stand.

 On the table at the foot of the bed, is a candle holder that has a twig ball on it, a faux orchid on a creamy stand, and an elephant.
On my dresser I removed the runner, added the tropical looking greens and placed the green pagoda shaped lantern. The lions have been here.

 This is the sitting area. I know some of you have seen it already. I have been trying to achieve a British Colonial look in here.

 This pagoda shaped lantern was a housewarming gift and I love it.
 These palm prints have been all over. I had them at the old house and really love them in here.

 This artwork is a metal picture of Mt. Fuji. It has a velvet mat and the gold frame. I spray painted the wicker basket.
 This tray table was a gift from my son. I love anything with an Asian theme.
The picture over Joe's dresser is from Vietnam. I made the arrangement years ago.

 This plate above my dresser has always been a favorite too.

Thanks for your visit.

~~~ A Tropical Luncheon~~~
HI everyone! It is so good to be back. I thought I would set a table to show you our everyday dishes that we use during the cold dreary days of winter. I LONG for tropical skies and surroundings during the winter so surround myself with items that bring that feeling to mind. I got these new rattan chargers on our recent trip to Fl. My sister took me to a World Market near her. We used to have a World Market up here  but they closed???? I love that store!  So I grabbed these cahrgers when I saw them. I decided to use them on this table because I love the dark contrast with the lighter hues of the table setting. As you can see the dinner plate has tropical leaves around the edge and the salad plates have 4 different palm trees depicted.
 I used my centerpiece that is so natural looking. And the tiki S and P stay on the table all the time.
 I found the palm tree juice glasses at CTS a few years ago. Love their shape and size. They are hand painted though and have to be hand washed.
 At first I used a tan napkin paired with the leaf one but liked the crisp white one to go better with the tablecloth. The leaves on the napkin closely resemble the leaves on the edge of the dinner plate.
 They are gathered simply with a green napkin ring. The different SHADES of green blend nicely, I think.
 Here is another of the salad plates.
 I love this little votive holder. I found it years ago before tablescaping, so only have ONE:( So, the guest of honor will get it at their place:):)
 Another salad plate. This is the banana palm.
 I also have this pretty platter. I placed it on a palte holder for you to see.
 Here are some details of the tablecloth. I love the bamboo and the palm trees.
 Maybe someday I will get to live in a warm climate.....but I doubt it. So, I just dream.
~~~A Tropical Dinner Party!!!~~~

Happy Saturday everyone. Yesterday I went over to my girlfriends house because she had asked me if I would set up for a dinner party she was having. I chose the theme, (tropical) and got the paper products, provided the tablecloths, runner, candlesticks, candles etc. So I will show you what we did. This centerpiece I have had for several years. I love the amazing different pieces in it! This is TRULY a "tropical" centerpiece!!!! It rests on a white tablecloth, then a dark brown tablecloth, then the woven rattan runner. I love all the texture the runner gave the table. I just saw that you have to click on alot of the pictures to get the full picture. some are cut off on the right side, sorry!!!!
 Then I placed my monkey candlesticks and 2 carved wooden candlesticks with sage green pillars on them.
 See thre monkey hugging the candlestick!?
 I just got these a few weeks ago. I had to go to 2 different TJMaax stores to get them. I saw the one, bought it and prayed my local TJ's would have another one, and it did!!! I LOOOOVE this candlestick. Right now it is sitting on MY dining room table for the dinner we are having for our daughter and SIL's first anniversary tonight!!!!!!

 We knew we were having ALOT of food so set up the plates, napkins and silverware on her kitchen table. They have a beautiful view out these big windows!
 I brought my black handled flatware and my brown bamboo flatware.
 These gorgeous PAPER plates and napkins I got from my dear friend and blogging buddy, Rett!!!!!! She sent them to me last year. I LOVE them and have plenty left over for use another time too!!!! Aren't they SO pretty!????

 I have had the little rattan votive holders for YEARS!!!! They have graced MANY tables over the years!!!!
 These are faux bamboo tealite holders.

 The cake sat here along with the desseet forks. Besides the cake we had chocolate cupckes that melted in your mouth and eclairs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh honey!!!!

 Someone brought a GOOD fruit tray!

 Deviled eggs went fast!
 A cold string bean dish.

 2 kinds of Panera bread. SO good! I think I must have gained 5 lbs. last night:):)

 Sausages and peppers:):)
 This was a delicious potato casserole, YUMMY!!!!
 Then a pineapple dish to go with the baked ham! Sorry I didn't get a pic of the ham! As you can see we had TONS of GOOD food, and it was a great party!
 When I got home, Joe and I sat out on the front porch and THIS is what joined us! It is a grasshopper but maybe an albino grasshopper?????? It was VERY pale. I also took 2 pics without the flash and look how earrie they look!!!!!

So, now I ahve to go get dressed for MY party tonight. I will show you that tomorrow, IF I have any strength left:):):) Have a great night tonight everyone. I may be joining some of these great parties.
