2 New Wreaths and Tutorial

Good morning! I am hoping that as you read this on Monday morning I feel better than I do right now as I type this. I stubbed my toe HARD on a cement ledge in the garage tonight right before dinner. UGH, it hurts. I think it may be broken, as it is turning black and blue and it started to turn towards the outside of my foot. So, I have taped 2 toes together to help it heal straight:)
Anyway, last week I had a request from a friend to make her a new wreath for her front door. It then gave me the motivation to make a new wreath for our front door too! So, here they are. My friend wanted red geraniums as that is what they have planted along the front of their house. Let me tell you, they were HARD to find! I finally bought a garland. I am sorry these first 2 pictures are dark,  As you can see, I did these out in the garage. Here is the garland added to the wreath.
Then I cut apart a white hydrangea bush and placed them around the wreath.
Finally I filled in with some spiky, white flowers that also were a bush that I cut apart.
 Here is the finished wreath.

She really liked it when I took it to her:)
Next I started on our wreath. I had bought all the flowers in the Spring and just hadn't gotten to put it together. I decided I wanted to stay with my blue, white and pops of orange color scheme that I am loving this year. I started placing 3 nests around the wreath. Then I cut apart the blue hydrangea bush and placed them
I made the bow and added that, then filled in the orange flowers, then some peach flowers too.
Then I cut apart a white bush and added them as filler too.

Finally I had a bush of variegated ivy in my stash so I cut that all apart and wound it through the wreath.

Here it is on the front door. I am hoping the birds are done making their nests as we have had many made in our wreaths over the years:) I like the bright colors as you can see it from the street.

Thanks for stopping by.
XO, Pinky

Breakfast Room Changes

I did get tired of looking at the snowmen, even though winter has just really begun! I am sick of it already though! So, I took them all down and packed them away, CLEANED the kitchen and breakfast room, and got things back to "normal". It was strange seeing the kitchen and breakfast room empty for awhile! I will share the kitchen soon too. I didn't have the hutch here yet this time last year so enjoyed doing that. I am really liking this look and don't think I will tire of it. I started on the top of the hutch with this large lantern. It has a battery operated candle on a timer so comes on by itself for a few hours at night. LOVE that feature! The bird is a stone like material and I added a green bottle/vase and a sprig of greens.
These are candle sticks that I have had for many years. They are carved wood.
I recently got this little wire cloche and placed this iron bird under it. I am looking for something to use as "seed" cause if I use real seed it will attract the varmits:):)
A wicker wrapped bottle holds some faux flowers and ivy and a rope ball sits next to that.
One of my demijohns and another cute bird. We have 3 bird feeders right outside the windows in here so I love seeing birds in here too! I might add a few other garden elements soon. You never know:)
I had this little pail and placed a wicker ball in it.

 Bee skeps are another favorite.
On the right side of the hutch top I have a larger demijohn filled with greens and sticks. And another bee skep.
The square basket stays up here all the time. It had a wreath on it for Christmas.

 Isn't he cute?:)

I brought this little bike planter from my office for the bottom of the hutch.
I also put the bird and cloche on an iron stand. I added a turtle shell to this vignette too.

Tada!!! There you have it. The house calms me after all the glitz and glam of Christmas is put away. Hope you are warmer than we are, wherever you are. We are getting some snow later today so I will be back to organizing some spaces and NOT going out! Have a beautiful week my friends!!! XO, Pinky
