Fall in the Guest Room, 2015

I put some touches of Fall in the guest room again this year. Our son is coming up from Fl. for Colleen's birthday party and staying for Thanksgiving but will be staying at our daughters (so he can see Colleen everyday):):) But I enjoy decorating the guest room for the seasons. A simple change of pillows and a few décor items and voila, Fall! This is how the room looked all summer.

So, I added some pumpkins to the birdcage,

A rust colored throw on the bed,

And Fall colored pillows on the bed.

I gathered 2 garlands together to put on the basket.

Then added some pumpkins on the candlesticks. I love the combination of blue and white with orange, and especially in the Fall.

Repost of A Fall Table and Embellished Garland!

OMGoodness, I have been dying to share this with you. My friend Mary at Home is Where the Boat Is blog, got these dishes from Mikasa in exchange for advertising for them. When I saw her GORGEOUS post, I FELL IN LOVE with the dishes and told Mary I was going to get some. She e-mailed me and asked if she could SEND THEM TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAAATTT???? I was ecstatic! They are just beautiful, truly, and are in the colors that I LOVE! I will use these for many years to come! So without further ado, here is my table. Hope you like it. This is a service for 4 but I just set the table for Joe and I. I posted this table last year, as you will see (the walls were still white). I decided I couldn't do a better table but wanted to reshare these gorgeous dishes. We are getting lots of use out of them and will for years to come!!!

I started with a beige tablecloth to give a neutral background to the table to highlight the dishes. Then I made a garland. I started with a VERY basic leaf garland and just added to it! I am a bad blogger and forgot to get a picture when I started, sorry!!!

I added one of my berry garlands, some fresh cut hydrangeas from the yard

and a monkey ball found on the same walk

The inside of the bowl is plain so I added some leaves:)

And a little "fluff" under the bowls adds texture and pizazz!!!

I gathered 3 napkins this time; green, beige and orange, mimicing the colors of the leaves on the plates.

I added a simple candle holder and my cute squirrel. I like squirrels now that we aren't in the woods and they aren't destroying everything in sight:):) And now that it is getting dark earlier we can light our candle at dinner!!

Oh how I love Fall, these dishes and colors!!! This makes my heart happy. They look even more beautiful now that the room is painted:)

My trusty brown bamboo flatware are used all during Fall.

My dollar store goblets are perfect too.

I found these carved gourds several years ago and have never used them. Aren't thet great!?

Fall Master Bedroom 2015

Some of you have seen this bedding but I love it and use it for Fall. I can't remember exactly when I got it, probably over 10 years ago but I got it at Walmart! It is perfect for Fall and these are the colors I LOVE! BTW, I can not believe we STILL have these stupid shades in our room. I guess it has been down on the priority list. But we ARE getting plantation shutters SOON!!! Thank you, Lord!!

You all know I love a touch of leopard in any room!

I got this pillow at Kirklands several months ago with Fall in mind. It came in several different colors. I love that it adds a touch of bling! A bonus: the pattern matches the comforter so well!
