Hi everyone! On Sunday Joe and I did ALOT of yard work, trimming things back, pulling things out, cleaning things up....you get the picture. It was overdue because of the HEAT and HUMIDITY we have been having. It was still too hot to be out there but we perseveered! I took some shots when we were done (IN)!!!! Hope you enjoy looking around the yard. This is the mandivilla, climbing the railing on the deck.
The tall red flwer is Cardinal Flower. It is perennial so comes back each year, and the hummingbirds and butterflies LOVE it!!!!!! The smaller red flowers are impatiens.Close up of cardinal flower. The hummers can get lots of nectar out of the petals!!
I removed alot of the water hyacinths. They multiply and will TAKE OVER the pond.
Tried to capture a shot of some of the fish.
The sun was coming through the trees and dappled shadows were on the stones and flowers.
The upper waterfall.
Can you see the FULL wheel barrel in the background? We filled that up MANY times over!!!!
I pray that you all in Texas and other states that need it, get some RAIN soon!!!! We had DOWNPOURS today. It is either feast or famine around here, rain wise it seems! Have a great week everyone! You all are such good friends. I love all the frinds I have made blogging! Thanks so much for your wonderful encouragement and support!!!! XO, Pinky I am joining Kim for Wow Us Wednesday at http://www.savvysouthernstyle.blogspot.com/
Your yard and gardens are looking wonderful. Still so hot here and not a drop of rain. I sure wish we could get some and cool down just a tad. The pond is fabulous. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeletePinky,
ReplyDeleteThis is so refreshing and lush looking compared to what we have on the Prairie now. The over month long of triple digits did most everything, except the Sunflowers IN! I do hope some of our Fall flowers bloom, but at the moment it doesn't look promising! Thank you for such a lovely garden post!
Fondly,
Pat
Hi lovely lady. Your garden looks so nice and green, and your flowers are beautiful with your pond Pinky.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week, and keep cool!!!!!

Love your waterfall and the yard pics, Pinky!
ReplyDeleteYou two have been really busy, not a weed in sight!
Your flowers look gorgeous.
Just got out first hummingbird to the feeder this week. He even feeds in pouring rain that TINY little thing!

Amazing garden Pinky!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day, kisses:)
I love your water garden! I miss mine terribly. We filled ours in a couple of years ago because our pond liner got a big crack into it. We had it for about eight years. Your yard looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day,
Gail
Wow you have been busy as well in your backyard. It is so fun to see what others do in the backyard. Great pics!
ReplyDeleteWow everything looks wonderful Pinky!! You are way braver than me, I usually wait until September to get out there and tackle those big jobs. The heat is unbearable down here right now. But it looks like the flowers are happy in your wonderful gardens! Love the cardinal flowers.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great! I spent several hours pulling weeds a couple of weeks ago & it was HOT!!
