~~~Our Everyday Placesetting~~~~
Good Morning!!! It is frigid here in Pa. this morning! We are having the coldest temps we have had in 2 YEARS!!!! It is 14 degrees right now. BRRRR!!!! As many of you know, I hate winter, cold etc. I also just took a short trip to sunny Florida where the weather was PERFECT while we were there. Low 80's and sunny everyday!!! That is my kind of winter. SO, I try to bring the tropics to my kitchen in the winter! While others are using their snowmen and icy picks in their decor, I am imagining the tropics! I found these dishes many years ago and bought a service for 8. I love them, they are neautral except for the salad plate so are used everyday here through the winter.
 There are 4 different palm trees depicted on the salad plates.
 The dinner plate has palm fronds along the edge.
 I found these 2 palm chargers several years ago in Fl. so grabbed them quickly. I wish I had gotten more!!!
 This is a plastic placemat for some of us who are a LITTLE messy sometimes.....not mentioning any names:):):)
 I found these placemats this year at CTS and like how the weave looks like bamboo.
 I use my brown bubble water goblets and $ tree clear goblets.
 My brown bamboo flatware is another favorite.
So, there you have it. I will share the whole kitchen, redone for Winter in another post, soon. Thanks so much for your visit. I TRULY appreciate my loyal followers. I am linking to these parties:
  4. Pinky,
    Gorgeous Tropical Tablescape!!!
    I had to giggle at your hint of who needs the plastic placemat! Same holds true here...guess that's why they placed the laundry off the dining room!!! Those hues are so very similat to what I've chosen for Studio One updates!!! Truly tranquil and refreshing! Sending warm wishes your way, dear friend!!!
    Fondly,
    Pat
  9. YIKES! That's crazy cold. To think I was complaining about 42. Which BTW, that day it never made it to 42. It didn't get any warmer than 37! I love the tropical stuff!
  10. Beautiful tropical dishes, Pinky! It's in the 70's here now, I hope the cold winter time is gone. We must have been in FL at the same time cause it was sunny and in the 80's when we were there less than 2 weeks ago....Christine
  13. Love the idea of a tropical table during the dead of winter! What a great way to take your mind off how really cold it is outside. Love each and every one of the elements of your place setting and especially all of the layers. Oh - and don't call me if your bamboo flatware goes missing one day. lol
  14. Well, if your tablescape doesn't invoke warmer temps for ya'll, I don't know what would! The china is just beautiful, Pinky.
    Keep thinking warm thoughts!
  15. I LIKE your way of thinkin', lady!!! We need to stop moaning about all the snow and cold and frigid temps and just create beautiful, bright, sun-filled tables to lift our spirits out of the frozen tundra! Hmmmm...I wonder who is the messy one requiring the placemat? :-) (I have threatened repeatedly to put a bib on my husband!!!) Your tropical setting makes me feel all warm...I think I need to change out of my flannel jammies now! Have a great weekend, and stay warm!!!
  16. Love your plates & mats Pinky! Bringing in the tropics and enjoying the swaying of the palm trees in your kitchen in January sounds like a great plan! It's frosty here too, 19 degrees here this morning! They are calling for a wintry mix. I'm hoping for a little snow instead of ice :)
