A New Spring Mantle Design

It was time to remove the bunnies and eggs from the mantle. I still wanted to keep it light with my blue and white pieces. I started with a plain green, twiggy garland. To that I added a few nests and some beautiful blue berry branches! The white lantern is staying but I added some pretty faux violas in keeping with my color scheme. On a side note, as I was putting this post together yesterday, I was thinking of my Mom, in Heaven. Yesterday she would have been 100 years old! I wish so much she could have seen this new home of ours as she lived with us in the old house for the last 5 years of her life. Now, back to the mantle:):)
Next to that is one of my blue and white lidded jars.
As I said, I added some nests too.

A whitewashed urn holds a faux pothos with some light blue flowers added.
 Another little nest
The silver and glass candlesticks got some blue candles, replacing the white ones.

And a sweet, blue bird is nesting on a cut glass bowl turned upside down!

The mantle will stay like this for quite awhile, I am sure!
I will share the hearth changes soon, when I complete them:)

Thanks for your visit!!
XO, Pinky

  1. The mantel looks really pretty Pinky. Love the touches of blue. The little birds nests are cute. My Dad would have been 99 last February. I was just thinking about that the other day.

    1. Very pretty and wispy. I love the nests and twigs and wonder where mine are.
I often dream of my mother. She would have been 94 this month. Her birthday is the same day as Queen Elizabeth 2.

  3. Your spring mantel is lovely! I really like the candleholders with the white berry rings with the colour of candles - so pretty. Your use of the nests and branches makes it look very spring-y. You've definitely inspired me to take down the bunnies on my mantel - that I never got pics of/posted this year anyway :(

  7. I agree with Shirley Pinky. You never fail to disappoint with your creativity and whimsy. There's something about bird nests that I love, and you've displayed them so nicely on your mantel. Love the touches of blue, one of my favorite colors.

    1. Pinky, You asked about The Barn Antiques. It is located in Lake Alfred, Fl... right near Polk City in Polk County. I'll share more about it in the next post, but they have an Antiques Shop, two gift shops, a plant nursery, and little tea room/cafe. The people that run the different shops are so friendly! You would absolutely LOVE the gift shops. The floral designers are very talented and creative... like you! :) I browsed around for 2 hours, until my husband called me to pick him up from Fantasy Of Flight, in Polk City. :)

  10. Pinky, I saw your mantel at the beginning of the week and have been thinking about how pretty it is. I was going to comment right after I saw it and got interrupted and couldn't remember who had what that was so pretty? Do you ever do that? I am too young for this brain I have, yikes!
