Since the artwork makes such a statement, I kept the mantle design rather simple. I combined a blue hydrangea garland and a white hydrangea garland. Then I just added the candles. Simple but petty.
On the hearth I used my white basket and wired a green wreath to it then added a nest.
I love the little bird on the jars lid.
I will use this all Spring and Summer then will decide if I will keep it here for Fall and Winter.
I actually like that it isn't framed. It keeps it simple and can go with anything.
I have had the blue hydrangea garland for YEARS! I hadn't used it for awhile, it was stored away. But I knew I could combine it with the white one.
The white lantern got a nest inside. I perched a bird onto my bowl that I turned upside down and put a nest of greens under it.
These clay pots with nests and eggs are an old staple too.
At night, the lights come on.
I am so happy with the carved wooden lanterns on the hearth. I can't believe it took me over 4 years to put them here;)
Thanks for your visit. I hope you are having beautiful Spring weather where you are. We are so enjoying being able to sit out on the deck or patio! I have decorated it and have gotten all my pots planted so will share that soon too. Have a beautiful day!!!

Perfect! Since you have so much blue and white, I can't think of a better print for your mantle. As always, everything looks lovely. Blue and white is a classic that will always be in style.

ReplyDeleteIt is so pretty Pinky and just perfect for your fireplace!
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE your terracotta painted wall and your use of blue and white as an accent against it. Those also happen to be MY colors too! Somethings just never go out of style! Donna at The Small House Big Sky Homestead.
ReplyDeleteWow what a lucky find- it is quite perfect! I like how you decorated the hearth and mantel. The bird on the bowl is so cute - great combo with the lantern and the white basket!
