I Finally Found One...well Another One!!!

I have been stalking the aisles of Home Goods for MONTHS. I have 3 stores that I go to regularly but have come up dry every visit. SO, I finally went to the internet and found JUST what I was looking for and for less than I could have imagined. I was prepared to pay more so feel very fortunate that I found this! As I said, I have 2 others, but wanted another and you'll see why soon. Here it is! A new blue and white garden stool.
 I wanted to get another one to balance the look of the fireplace as I have one on the other side.
 I just love the design!
 This is the one on the other side. I may get another pothos plant for the new one.
 I really like the more balanced look.

 For now I placed one of my favorite containers that has a faux fern it it. I love this handled container that I have had for years.

 I have packed away all the bunnies that were Easter bunnies but have left these here on the mantle and hearth. I will change this area a little later in the Spring.

Thanks for your visit! I am lightening up and paring down for the Spring and summer. For this girl, that is hard as I love to be surrounded by the things I love:) I hope you have a wonderful, SPRING day. We may get SNOW this weekend. THAT does NOT make me happy!!!

I Just Couldn't Resist!!!!!

Happy May everyone!!! Where did April go so fast???? So,  I have been looking, on and off, since we moved in here for new artwork for the fireplace. I never thought I would find something that I LOVE and was the right size. BUT I DID!!!! I was just browsing one night at the Pier 1 site and bam! I saw it! So, after we (Joe) got it hung for me, I had to redo the mantle and hearth!
 Since the artwork makes such a statement, I kept the mantle design rather simple. I combined a blue hydrangea garland and a white hydrangea garland. Then I just added the candles. Simple but petty.
 On the hearth I used my white basket and wired a green wreath to it then added a nest.
 I love the little bird on the jars lid.
 I will use this all Spring and Summer then will decide if I will keep it here for Fall and Winter.
 I actually like that it isn't framed. It keeps it simple and can go with anything.

 I have had the blue hydrangea garland for YEARS! I hadn't used it for awhile, it was stored away. But I knew I could combine it with the white one.

 The white lantern got a nest inside. I perched a bird onto my bowl that I turned upside down and put a nest of greens under it.

 These clay pots with nests and eggs are an old staple too.

 At night, the lights come on.
 I am so happy with the carved wooden lanterns on the hearth. I can't believe it took me over 4 years to put them here;)
Thanks for your visit. I hope you are having beautiful Spring weather where you are. We are so enjoying being able to sit out on the deck or patio! I have decorated it and have gotten all my pots planted so will share that soon too. Have a beautiful day!!!

Fall on the Patio and Around the Pond!

I LOVE decorating my patio for Fall!!! I also love sitting out there in the afternoon to read and in the evening with a glass of wine. When it gets chillier we will have a fire in the fireplace!!! I have this cozy throw for chilly evenings.
 The wicker trunk holds ALL the cushions and pillows when it rains! They all fit in there then I cover them all with 2 green trash bags IN the trunk to protect them even more.

 This jack o lantern sits on a spider holder.
 The mums are doing very well!
 3 solar lanterns and 2 small pumpkins line the steps.

 Cushions and pillows make it comfy for our guests too.
 I have not been able to find another pumpkin in the right size for my stack but it's fine with just 2 for now....plus I need to ask Joe to trim back the stem on the white one.

 The fireplace is ready for those chilly nights. We can leave it here and move the chairs or put it right in the center of the patio.
 The lantern on the hook holds bug spray and has a remote:)
 I filled my copper watering can with some faux foliage but will be putting some real things in it soon.

 Now we can look around the pond!  This is the view from the side yard, approaching the patio.
 The mums that have come back from last year are amazing!!!
 The other day, Joe and I cut back plants in the pond and some around the pond getting ready for winter:( I see we left the kneeling pad out, sorry:)
 The Japanese maple is putting out new growth!

 The mulch is being torn up by some critter. Several neighbors have this problem and we don't know what is doing it.

Thanks for your visit! I love to hear from you, so leave me a comment!

~~~~ A Romantic Night:)~~~~
A very short (but sweet) post. On Saturday night, Mr. S. and I went to dinner, then came home, made a fire and had a cocktail and just talked. It was so nice and relaxing, I thought I would share! Tomorrow I will share the wonderful soup we had for dinner tonight! Roasted tomato and basil! YUMMO!!!! I will include the recipe too and hopefully link to Michael Lee's Foodie Friday! If you want to find TONS of great recipes go there at: http://www.designsbygollum.blogspot.com/   It is wonderful and up every Friday!
 Lit the candle on the coffee table.
Thanks for stopping by. I have been really busy but will be doing my Valentine's table for this weekend so please stop back! XO, Pinky
